Truest form of artistic expression.

If I just eat a lot of shrimp all day will my hair turn permanently pink? Or should I get a head full of feathers for that?

And gone is the amazing weather. Hello windy coldness. I'm glad I enjoyed it as much as I could while it lasted. Especially working in the garden has been so much fun. So many pretty flowers I especially love these my mum got. They're called bleeding-hearts (or in Dutch 'broken hearts')  and I mean.. look at them! They're in the shape of a heart and pink. Too pretty.
Gotta love all the other plants too though!
What are you doing on my flower you dirty fly?

And our blossom... A couple of days ago I looked outside and suddenly exclaimed: 'Omg mom we've got so much blossom in our front yard!'
Those pink blossomed trees though... I'm a sucker for pink blossomed trees. Blossomblossomblossom.

AND yesterday was my cousin's birthday and I finished her painting right on time!
In the end I was more proud of my gift wrapping skills than the actual painting..

Since it's Easter and I haven't really got anything to talk about I'm just going to post one of my all time favorite songs which I think is appropiate in a way.

MILKBBI

***
Today I received my copy of Beach Bums by Justin Wallis a.k.a MILKBBI! It's so fun, inspiring and colorful and obviously perfect to browse through with this amazingly hot weather <3

His work has inspired my loads the past few weeks, and I love how in his work you can see that it's all truly drawn traditionally as all the lines and coloring aren't 'flawless'. All the colors, patterns and other cutesy stuff is just...

It even came with a super cute postcard and a card with a little thank you message written on it. I guess that's what I love about 'smaller' artists and such, it's all way more personal and unique than the huge companies that only acompany your order with a boring receipt.
You can check out MILKBBI here or grab one of the only 100 copies of the little book in the super cute shop!

The weather here decided to skip all the spring bullshit and just go straight on to mid-summer weather. It's insane. Only three days ago I had to wear a hoodie + warm jacket, next thing I know I'm out rollerblading in my shorts and tank top. Great days to bring out the soap bubbles, make colorful paper chains, homemade raspberry slushies and as I already mentioned: rollerblading!
My precious little cousin <3 I'm working on a painting of her right now for her birthday! It'll have lots of rainbow colors, glitter  and cuteness n.n

Talking about art and cuteness.. Here's a little sneak peek of the personal project I'm still working on. I lost interest in it for a bit but now I've jumped back into it!

And today I got myself this sweetiepie, or actually pinkie pie!
Eeeek so cute ^_^ I am so tempted to buy the other ones as well.. I've never really been into the 'old' My Little Pony. I always thought their voices were annoying and they looked a little.. dumb. But I'm absolutely loving the MLP Friendship is Magic series.

I also got myself a new book: Water for Elephants, I've been reading so much about it lately and apparently it's been made into a movie and I still had a book gift certificate lying around so.

I'm also in bad need for a new lay-out which I will probably start working on next week. Or if the weather gets bad again. Hope you all have some good weather too!

I knew I had seen Charlie's Kitten Mittens somewhere before. Today I was browsing through some of the books that were my favorite as a little kid and in Three Bedtime Stories of the Little Golden Books there's a story about three little kittens that have to wear mittens! Though then they eat blueberry pie with their mittens on, so they get dirty.

Who even eats blueberry pie with their mittens on? You tell me.

Amsterday

***
Yesterday I went to Amsterdam again! I forgot you should never go on a Saturday though because damn.. so many people. Luckily we (my dad and I) weren't planning to take the main street but the way prettier streets with the so called 'grachten', like this:
It also helped that all the better shops and boutiques are located here, including one of my favorite shops ever: The Darling. They've always got the sweetest collection of clothes (scored a new dress that was on sale <3) and accesories and even better: the prettiest cupcakes! I didn't buy any but I couldn't resist taking some pictures.

Of course I also had to visit one of my favorite galleries around here: the ABC Treehouse. They had a beautiful exhibition called Heart On Stage

This was definitely my favorite piece:

I also had some very tasty tea. Green tea with passion fruit. The design of the teabags made it taste even better. So cute! (lol at my dad in the background). I also had a super delicious bread roll with tuna salad. I don't know why, but whenever I'm having lunch away from home I tend to go for a tuna sandwich.

Another reason why I love amsterdam is because of a shop selling products from the UK and USA, which means: Reese's Peanutbutter Cups!! I missed them so much.

I also saw a guy who looked exactly like Vincent Volaju of the Cowboy Bebop movie. Luckily there weren't any jack-o-lanterns and deadly viruses involved. I thought it was kinda funny that it started raining about half an hour after the encounter.

Then my dad bought a sucker, checked out an afro cow and then we went back home again. My feet are so sore x.x yet I had way too much of a good day to give a damn.

Picture post time! First I will start off with some pure magic: Baileys Cupcakes <3
I'm a sucker for creamy liquors and Baileys is by far my favorite (though I can't resist an amaretto with some whip cream on top either!) Even the batter was DELICIOUS (and yes that needs to be bolded AND in capital letters). Oh and check out my super appropiate apron.

Can I eat them already?

YES. Omnomnomnom! The buttercream frosting is amazing, and I made some cute green hearts to stay in the Irish spirit. Check out the recipe for them here!

AND: meet my new friends!
I made three new ones since the last two. I am in love with the multi-colored one and my unicorn whale.

Also, I killed a man on the beach. Is it too obvious?

Thanks for stopping by! xoxo

I am just going to use this tiny space of the internet to say that beluga whales are awesome. I remember when I was hooked to the aquatic version of Zoo Tycoon (Marine Mania I believe it was called..) I always wanted to get tons of belugas. They're so pretty, and white, and chubby. My dream now is not to swim with dolphins, but with belugas. I bet if a beluga and a narwhal would have a baby together, it would look amazing. Like a unicorn/fish/mammal creature. I can live with a normal beluga baby for now though, I mean, just look at it!
This one reminds me of the pope though...

I will soon post about the beluga/narhwal/unicorn whale plushie I made and the most delicious cupcakes in the world: Baileys Cupcakes <3
