Birthday Weekend

***
Last weekend I finally got to celebrate my birthday at home with my family! It was good finally being all together and home again. I never thought I would miss it this much. Naturally I took a lot of pictures!

Rocking my handmade cupcake scarf! (minus sprinkles)

I got some amazing artbooks from Monsa and a super cute cupcake handcream + chocolate fridge magnet!
My first real, proper handbag, I love it so so so much! <3
super cute ring I also got from my mum c:
I also got lots of crazy neon colored acrylic paint! So awesome.

One thing I really wanted to do was make 'food that looks like other food' which have turned into sugary looking cupcakes, which they really aren't. I was also planning on making a 'meatloaf cake', but I'll save that one for an other time...

My cake was made by this recipe, though I used some delicious amaretto instead of almond extract in the buttercream.
Weird cupcakes in the making.
No those aren't chocolate chips.
Omnomnom cake in the making.
I had never frosted a cake like this before.
I sprinkled some more sugar on top in case the massive amount in it wouldn't be enough
Think this is deliciously sweet strawberry icing? Think again!
'food that looks like other food' cupcakes! With tomatoes, bacon and a creamcheese/beetjuice icing.
deliciousness.
My birthday seems to be cursed though, there's always drama going on and this year was no exception. I don't feel like going into it and as you can judge from the pictures most of the day was still fun and yummy!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes, and here's to the beginning of my twenties!

Bebop and Birthdays!

***
THIS EXCITES ME.
First Look of the Day: Thirteen years later, Cowboy Bebop director Shinichirō Watanabe is reuniting with Cowboy Bebop composer Yoko Kanno for a brand new anime about “a naive boy and a scruffy boy [who] share a passion for jazz in a provincial town in the late 1960s.”
Based on Yūki Kodama’s same-named manga series, Sakamichi no Apollon is set to air this April on Fuji TV’s anime programming block,Noitamina.

(animenews

I am currently back home again to celebrate my birthday and eat cake. The table looks awesome already with a brand new pink tablecloth with white polka dots and lots of candy. Updates will be back soon, but for now it's party time!
I want a birthday corgi...
(source)
Or no wait, I'll just start with a corgi candle!

I bet every party gets better with corgis.

Happy Birthday to me!

***
...to me!

I am officially not a teenager anymore. Ha yeah right, you are obviously an adult when you spend your day crocheting a cupcake scarf, eating chocolate and  listening to Disney soundtracks on repeat.

I am not really celebrating today yet, but on Thursday I'll go back home and bake red and purple cake with twenty candles on top! I got some really sweet cards today already though, including the most amazing cupcake pop-up card from my mum <3 she knows me too well.
The above picture is also the final picture of my 365 project! Clickity click on the button over there on the right to check out all the pictures! I don't think I'll be doing it again this year, but I'll still continue to make as many pictures as possible because it's so much fun going through them later on.

But as I said: I'm working on a cupcake scarf! I finally taught myself how to crochet and once I got the basics down I decided I wanted this to be my first project. I only have two more cupcakes to go, it's gonna be sweet (no pun intended).
I wish I could give pie to all the lovely people who read my blog, but you'll have to do with a cute digital pixel cake.
Xoxo from an old person.

Yucky Paper and Yummy Coconut.

***
After cleaning up (and filling two trashbags with a ridiculous amount of stuff I once thought was worth saving) I found some awesome stained papers to work on. Yes I love gross old paper!
This makes me smile.
Yay for old supply testing papers!
Nomming on fresh coconut strips with mango dip! <3
I also thought it would be fun to share some pages of my dummy/sketchbook with you guys. I also think they kind of clarify why I love messy paper. In my opinion browsing through my own, or someone elses sketchbook is one of the most fun and inspiring things to do. It's usually a hundred times more interesting than the final works of an artist c:
See the purple squirrel on the left? His name is Pete and he's real!
Regina Spektor has been playing on repeat today, especially Better. Haha I love how somebody says in the comments how the women in the video look like the Doctor and River's children, and they really do as a matter of fact!

And don't forget to hug someone today, as it's National Hugging Day! I'll just hug my giant elephant plushie.

Bears, Books and Buttons.

***
On Thursday I...
Worked on a papercraft
Digitalised and bounded my little books

And I found an unknown button! Anyone know what it's from?

Tea and Coffee

***
Without even realizing it I've been drawing girls and birds. The first one is made with tea, the second one with coffee.
Yes I have a tiny messy little desk. I can slide my table out to make it bigger, but my fear is that it will then get even messier and I'll never be bothered to slide it back in.
Oh how I love my floor!

Sherlock spoilers!

***
For anyone who hasn't seen the latest Sherlock episode yet: spoilers!

Ok I had plenty of other super interesting things to talk about, but I just finished watching the last Sherlock episode and I'm just... in shock. Even though I already knew how it was going to end (well not exactly, but I knew he wouldn't be dead), I still cried. It made my tea taste of depression. I have so many questions now
Can someone just hold me now? I wish I had someone to share all these feelings with. So many feelings. I just can't.

'Keep your eyes fixed on me.'
That one line. I bet if John would have kept his eyes fixed he would've known he wasn't really dead. But whatever. I'm gonna make dinner now and watch Doctor Who and I will just have to live with this all until the third season.

I am not going to apologize for all the Sherlock spam because this is my blog and I can post whatever I fancy.
xoxo
