Food for your eyes.

It's no news I'm a big fan of asian food. And honestly, who isn't!? I just stumbled across mochidesu's tumblr and it has so much goodness. Omg. I HAD to share!
Those KitKats.. I want to try them all!
These pictures will definitely serve as inspiration for new art! I am so inspired to make asian food themed drawings and paintings. Like my rice cake kitsune. That was so much fun. Now I just got to sit down and DO it as my blog is truly lacking art posts lately and that makes me sad.
I don't think that's an asian breakfast, but it sure looks pretty!

I am on Pinterest!

Yes I am! It's my latest addiction. I had tried several times to get started, but never really understood why everyone was so excited about it. But now all of a sudden I do, and it's so much fun to just create boards with random themes and collect pictures for it. It'll also be ideal as inspiration boards for upcoming art concepts n.n

I'm especially excited about my 'Healthy Living' board now though. I'm more motivated than ever to eat entirely clean and exercise and looking at that board helps to keep that up. I've started doing pilates outside and I'm on the hunt for some perfect running shoes. I've never been running before, except for school, but now that the weather is nice running around to my favorite music sounds very appealing indeed.

So anyway, if you feel like checking out my pins, including corgis, omnoms and awesome ladies, you can go right here! And if you have an account too, let me know!

*Glamour rock in the sweet shop*

Happy Wednesday!
Now that summer has started I finally feel like I have the time again to focus on other things besides art. Like beauty products! As I mentioned in my last post I had finally gotten my first products at Lush. A classmate, Tanja, was working there that day so she thankfully was more than happy to give advice and let us smell all the goodness... This is what I got!
My goodies!
The R&B will have to be my new favorite product! When I put a little bit of it in my hair in the store it instantly revived and got shiny and curly again. I was amazed! It smells really good too. You just put a little bit on your hands and put it in your hair. That is all! You can just leave it in and look and smell amazing :)

Next, my classmate thought the Rockstar soap would be perfect for me! It's pink, sparkly and smells super sweet in the best way possible. It's like a glamour rock party in a sweet shop while glitters are falling from the sky, but in soap form. Awesome.

The ocean salt facescrub is lovely too. It smells like the sea (obviously..) and leaves my face feeling super soft and fresh. I'm definitely considering getting the 'real deal' with my next visit.
R&B creme, Rockstar soap, ocean salt facescrub.
All in all, Lush is one of my favorite new shops! I am obsessed. It's all so natural and quirky and fun and I felt so happy and excited once I left the shop. If you haven't been there before: GO RIGHT NOW!!

Yes. I'm such a material girl. I'm on a spending roll, but hey, I've worked hard and am allowed to treat myself now. A couple of days later I finally got Katy Perry's fragnance Purr. Summer is basically the only time of the year I feel like wearing perfume, and this one has been on my wishlist for ages!
I got the super pretty giftbox witht he sparkly bodylotion and shower gell, and the shop lady also gave me the free kitty bag even though it wasn't included with gift sets. Score! It smells delicious, and I feel like it changes a little bit all the time which is really nice. And lets not forget about the super adorable bottle!!
I love that little cat face!
Do you have any new favorite products or recommendations? I'd love to hear!
Hope you are having a great week so far.

Omnomnoms and resolutions!

Summer holidays are off to a good start! It's nice and sunny most of the time and I've been having a lot of fun with my mum in my just as fun city! I've also managed to cross off two things from my resolution list I made this year...
Super cute postcard from Kaila (aka rainbowholic) - Bought my first goodies from Lush (reviews soon!) -
omnom at Bagels and Beans - omnom Spelt crackers (with cottage cheese and apple spread) - my new pink shoes!
One of those resolutions was finally trying to wear heels and buy a pair. I got these in both pink and black! They're super comfy + easy to walk on

My mum ready for our sweeties tasting!
My other resolution was to eat macarons! At first I was like 'I'll wait 'til I'll go to France again' but then we went to Deli France, which is kind of the same thing. I tried the pink one first (obviously), and I thought it was kind of mehh.. I didn't expect the filling to taste like it did at all!

But then I tried the green one and omg.. it was so delicious! It was pistachio <3 I think those creamy, nutty flavors are much tastier than the fruity ones. The brown one was chocolate, and I like chocolate, but it wasn't anything special. Just like the little cakes. They were just a sweet, buttery, dry kind of cake. But yeah, pistachio made me go all YUM.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Tea is a miracle.

So, yesterday I was strolling through the Eko Plaza (which is kind of the Dutchs equivalent for Whole Foods, but then usually a lot smaller and a lot less awesome). If I could do my grocery shopping there all the time, I would. But it's so incredibly expensive! No good for a tight student budget. Bah.

Anyway, suddenly something caught my eye. It was pink, purple and had 'White Tea' and 'Cherry' written on  it. And it matched my current nail polish perfectly (am I the only one who buys something just because it matchs their nails/outfit?) It was obviously made for me. What I'm talking about is a drink called Little Miracles. And a miracle it is!
I'm usually not a fan of either energy drinks or iced tea. Both are always way too sweet. Or iced tea tastes like cooled of tea that's been sitting there for a couple of days. But this drink is just... omnomnom. It's not too sweet, smells great and if you like cherries then you're gonna love this! Know those gummy cherries? Well imagine putting those in your white tea and then adding some ice cubes to it and this is what you get (in the best way imaginable!)
There are two more varieties. I can't wait to pick up the green tea next time I go grocery shopping

And now that we're talking about tea and pretty packaging, I'll also share a tea I picked up some time ago! Clipper Tea is natural, fair and delicious. What more could you wish for?
All their packaging illustrations are so inspirational, but these would have to be my favorite:

This post is mainly about ice cream.

Fresh new lay-out!
It's still a little bit under construction and I'm still changing, adding and removing stuff every now and then, but I was in desperate need for a change (especially those annoying border around my images were annoying the heck out of me). And I have time to do that now because my summer holidays have officially started!! I've truly outdone myself this semester. I couldn't believe it when they said I got an 8 (out of 10) for my final presentation!
A little peak at my presentation.
We celebrated that evening with a super yummy dinner at one of my fav restaurants (I had this amazing aubergine/hazelnut/feta cheese oven dish) and an amazing dessert I shared with two other ladies who were craving sweetness too. It had three flavors of Ben & Jerry's, chocolate mousse, Turkish delight, this delicious cotton candy like stuff, pineapple, whip cream and oh damn so much more. I should've taken a picture..
Other things making me happy...
Oatmeal with egg! (am I the only one who never had an egg in their oatmeal before?) - Katy Perry's Wide Awake and Marina and the Diamonds' Power and Control (or well.. basically all her songs right now) - This card I received from Lee Xin Yu from Malaysia.. it has to be my favorite one EVER.
finally continue watching Samurai Champloo <3 - hikes to the beach - sunshine. just sunshine. - buying nice products for my poor damaged hair - dreaming of getting a cute persian cat - shoes with an ice cream cone as a heel, ummmm yes plz!?
Irregular Choice - May Contain Nuts
Hope everyone will have a great weekend! I'm kind of excited about my mum coming over this weekend. I hardly ever have guests!

kitties kitties kitties

***
You guys. I only have one last big presentation (well BIG.. it's only about 10 min. max, but it's big in a way) next Thursday and then my first year of art school is OVER. I can't believe it. It went by like WOOSH. I've truly exceded my own expectations when it comes to my final results/grades and I am so proud of myself! It feels so great and I'm so incredibly motivated you don't even want to know!

I honestly can't wait to get back into some regular blogging and to just draw and paint and be creative in any way without feeling to pressure of it having to be judged and graded. But until then I'm just going to freak out about my presentation. But yeah, expect more frequent posts SOON!

I'm going to leave you with a video I had to make for my software class. You know you're going to an awesome school when videos like this are considered good. n.n

Cute Gets & Cubs

***

Or whatever time of the day it is where you are :)
I took a little break from everything before class the other day to treat myself a little bit. I finally got the book I blogged about a little while ago, and it's so incredibly pretty! Now I'm dying to get the one about kimono's too.
Stitched cute cover
Pretty pattern n.n
Creatures of the night hidden in the tree!
I also couldn't resist this little 'blindbox' package and I got these two cuties to accompany all my other toys on my cabinet of cuteness.

Today we went to the zoo with class to draw and they had the cutest lion cubs!
They were just lazing around I felt like jumping right in there to cuddle them (don't worry, I didn't do it in the end.) I have to admit the zoo was kind of a disappointment for me. So many cages were empty OR so small I only felt sorry for the animals. And too many screaming children. TOO many. Ugh.

Lovey dovey sharks! They also had the most amazing GIANT sea turtle. I don't think I had seen one swimming around like that in real life before. It was so beautiful. And I LOVED the elephants! I can't stop drawing elephants now!

Still, I feel like my head is going to explode and I just want to crawl into my bed and drink vanilla flavored rice milk and eat peaches all day (my slowly growing obsessions). Assessment week is the worst. I want the next two weeks to be over already so I have room for more fun again.
