Peanut Butter Me Up!

I love peanut butter. And a combination of peanut butter with chocolate is as close to heaven as you can get in my opinion. My favorite sandwich as a kid was probably peanut butter with Dutch 'hagelslag' a.k.a chocolate sprinkles. And when I was in upstate New York in 2010 and I got introduced to (giant) Reese's Peanut Butter cups on a cold, stormy night, my life was basically complete. I am still very thankful a nightshop just around the corner sells this wonderful american candy. Oh where would I be without you precious shop?
Anyway! Back to the point of this post. When I saw Ben & Jerry's were gonna sell peanut butter & jelly ice cream here, I knew I needed it. In my mouth (that's what she said! Omg.) But it's ridiculously expensive, and I didn't feel like eating so much ice cream just yet (since I knew I was going to finish it in less than three days). But since I didnt have any chocolate eggs and worked so damn much for the past few days, I decided to finally take the plunge!
*angels singing*
That name though. Seriously? Peanut Butter Me Up? I think it sounds kind of gross and it's not very appetizing to imagine a person covered in peanut butter while eating this.

So this ice cream consists of peanut butter and vanilla ice cream with chocolatey covered peanut butter pieces and a raspberry jam/jelly core. I am not usually a fan of the 'core' varietes and like most people, end up eating around it or only one half of the ice cream. This one wasn't too bad though! The jelly added a nice fruitiness to otherwise extremely heavy ice cream.
Go home core, you're drunk.
My favorite part of it was the peanut butter ice cream and the chocolate/peanut butter pieces. In my opinion there was WAY too much vanilla flavor which would ideally be chocolate or just even more peanut butter ice cream. Or like... chocolate and peanut butter and jelly swirls in it. I prefer swirls. And even with this one in existence, my favorite is still the strawberry cheesecake! Omnomnomnom.
So final judgement.. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. But a tiny 7. Maybe a 6.9. It's good, but could've been soooo much better. Have you tried this one yet? What's your favorite Ben & Jerry's flavor?

edit: I didn't even plan this, but apparently today is national PB and Jelly day! Greatest day ever!

  1. I know this is weird but I'm not conscious about having tried any Ben&Jerry's ever O.O
By the way, I have been a member of postcrossing for...12 days and my postcards have been travelling 11 days. I don't get it really, I understad that the one to Taiwan would take longer but to Germany, really? Lol

  2. @Alexandra Wow you're missing out! If I could I'd sent you a tub of strawberry cheesecake Ben & Jerry's right away!

And about the postcrossing thing, it is indeed pretty strange the card to Germany is taking so long. Those are always the cards that arrive first for me. But maybe the person you sent one to is just lazy or not home for a couple of days.. I hope it'll work out! And yeah, cards to and from Taiwan (and China and Russia in my experience) can definitely take a long time..

  3. I'll wait. Anyways I don't think I'll be there for too long, it looks a bit odd sending mail constantly to people I don't know, this first two postcards were fun to make but I think I prefer it when it is a bit more personal and I really know the receiver ^^
Well! I'll try the icecream someday soon! Promise! n.n

  4. @Alexandra Yeah it's kind of a hit and miss with postcrossing. And sometimes you get really nice and personal ones, while others are just plain promotional cards.

  5. Exactly. I have been browsing and that's the most common thing but I decided to handmade the ones I sent. I'll wait a bit more but if by the end of April I haven't received any nor my postcards have arrived I will delete my account, so beware of an overload of mail in your mailbox haha n.n

By the way! I made myself some harry potter stuff for you (I feel like a little kid haha) I'll soon send you some pictures but I'm not sure when I'll be able to send a package again c:

  6. @Alexandra As long as no one registers a card you sent, you wont receive any cards either ;c but of course I wouldn't mind an overload of mail! Haha if I ever won the lottery all I'd probably be doing all day is sending people awesome mail :D
