Google Reader is shutting down tomorrow!

(source)
Hello my lovely readers :)
Just a quick little post to remind everyone Google Reader is shutting down tomorrow (1st of July), which means that you will have to switch to a new place to keep reading all the blogs you're currently following. This doesn't have to be very complicated! I recommend bloglovin', where you can transfer all the blogs you're currently following through google reader by the click of a button..You can read more pros on it over here on Gala Darling.

If you haven't quite figured it out yet (though I recommend you take a few minutes to do so), you can also just keep following me by filling out your email address in the sidebar on the left and you'll be able to follow me through email. n.n

Also, I hope my recent switch to Disqus for all comments hasn't been too much of a problem. It makes it a lot easier for me to keep track of all comments and to let people know when I've replied to their message. If it is a problem, just let me know and I'll see if I can find an alternative.

Enjoy your Sunday & lots of love and jelly beans,

Saturday Shoe Shopping Dx

Never have I enjoyed shoe shopping. I mean, I've always LOVED having a new pair of shoes (I'd basically sleep in them when I was little, or put them on first thing in the morning), but shopping for them was always hell. I didn't like most of them, they were all boring. I'd always gravitate to the hot pink ankle boots or insane platform sandals that were always too big for me, but I begged for anyway. I still think most general shoe stores are boring, but luckily we still have ONLINE SHOPS! They don't make deciding on a new pair much easier though..
I've been drooling over lolita shoes for a while now, and I finally want to make up my mind as to which ones I want to save some money for. I just can't decide! At first the pink ones with the bows were on the top of my list, but now I also really like the black platform ones without the bows. They'd also go with more outfits, BUT their platform is even higher *_* First world problems, I know. This is basically one of those things I worry about when I wake up at 6 am and sip my first cup of green tea of the day.
sparkle sparkle magical shoes!
I could also get the boots, since summer will soon be over and I never had boots/decent fall/winter shoes before. Not sure if you can call platform lolita boots decent though hehe n.n Which ones are your favorite? Do you have any other awesome pairs/online shops to share with me (and make it even more difficult to decide)?

Kawaii Guy, cute nails and wonderlands!

 Current Loves

Kobayashi aka "kawaii guy"
This guy is my number 1 inspiration right now. I had seen pictures of him floating around online, but just couldn't find out who he was! But then I finally found this video and found out what an incredible inspiring person he truly is. My faith in humanity is restored a little again.

OPI's Minnie Mouse inspired nail polish

Sooooo cute! I definitely want to get my hands on this (and then get it on my nails!!)

Kirsten Dunst - Turning Japanese
I first came across a picture of Kirsten Dunst in Harajuku gear on Pinterest, and I just HAD to find out what it was from! Well it led me to this music video and ummm well, IT'S FREAKING AMAZING. It's my personal soundtrack right now.

Cute nail stickers from Js Utopia

Ohmy. Etsy shop Js Utopia is probably the best place for nail stickers ever. Go check it out! They have sooooo many!

I absolutely adore this photoset. But then again, I almost adore every single picture on Rookie.

Viva Cute Candy Hairsalon
I can't even... this is just so perfect. This place is definitely on my list of places I want to visit. Why can't there be places like this all over the world!?

Taylor Swift Wonderland magazine photoshoot

So many people hate on Taylor, but I just love her. And I think this photoshoot she did with Wonderland is just darling...

Nitty Scott "Flower Child" music video
Even though the music isn't necessarily my thing, I absolutely LOVE this music video!

After watching Helen Melonlady's video on Unicorn Hair I'm inspired to touch up my own hair a little bit again! Not gonna go unicorn though, just (some various shades of) pink n.n I wish I could get it super vibrant bubblegum pink, but it's such a hassle. And if I want to get all of the brassiness out of my hair I'd have to bleach it 2+ times which is just too much. And I'm impatient. So I'll stick with almost perfect hot pink hair for now.

Have a lovely day/weekend! I'm finally getting to visit my mommy again! So my weekend will probably be filled with lots of tea, chocolate, Scrabble games and soap operas.

Thursday Tasting: Strawberry Milk Tea!

The other day I was walking around my local asian grocery store, when this cute cup caught my eye:

Strawberry Milk Tea! Milk Tea + Strawberry + cute pink packaging = NEED! The only thing that made me hesitate getting it was the fact that there were no dutch or english instructions on how to prepare it, but I figured I'd be able to figure it out with my awesome cooking skills. Let the experiment begin!
This is what was in the cup when I opened it. A packet of milk tea powder, packet of tapica pearls and a bendy straw n.n
With my awesome language skills I figured out that I had to put the powder in first (I don't think it the order  matters much though.. T.T) The powder smelled HEAVENLY, if you've ever had milky strawberry snacks/ice cream/whatever before, you'll know what I'm talking about. If KAWAII had a smell, it would smell like this.
Next, I decided to add boiled water! It already started looking like something drinkable and delicious...
Aaaaaand finally: throw in the pearls! I didn't photograph them, but they're basically little brown tasteless gummy balls :P This resulted in...

SUCCES!
Then it was time to taste this little baby. I waited for it to cool off a little bit an d then took my first sip. OMG WHAT IS THIS MAGIC? Seriouly, it was delicious. The pearls weren't really necessary though in my opinion. Most of them didn't get through until I was almost through the entire thing, but since they're packed seperately you can just leave them out if you want c:

If any of my Dutch readers want to try it too: you can find it at Amazing Oriental.
Have you ever had milk tea? Did you like it? Have a wonderful day!

Zoo drawing adventure!

Hi guys! School is finally, slowly, coming to an end. Most important evaluations are done and the only thing that still weighs heavy on me is my big final end of the year presentation. But it'll be fine. I've scored good enough on all my classes to not screw that one up.

For our last drawing class, we went to our local zoo again! I thought I'd share some pictures of all the little, and not so little, creatures I came across!
Okay, this mister (or lady?) had seen too many horror movies. He was just lying there with his eyes closed until all of a sudden he opened his eye and just kept staring at us. It creeped the hell out of me.
Meerkats! I love meerkats c:
Oh and THIS alligator. He was just lying there with his giant jaw open. Was he laughing? Was he hungry? Was his jaw locked? I don't even know.
These hogs were so cool! They reminded me of the Lion King.
The giraffes were just being fed, so no good pictures :c but the baby giraffe was so cute!
Elephants! I love elephants! (I still sleep with a elephant plush every night Cx) This one was just playing around with water. Such a badass. There was also a little baby one, but I couldn't get any good pictures..
They also had a brand new butterfly garden, which are always so dreamy and relaxing. I wish I could have one right on my balcony. Anyway, this is probably where I would hang out all day if I were a butterfly. Right on those delicious fruits.
So pretty n.n
I didn't actually realize this butterfly was a see through one like we had been looking for until I saw this photograph -.-'
More prettiness!
Butterflies to-be! So cool.
This is one of my new favorite birds! This picture doesn't do their amazing color justice. They are SO BRIGHT.
You can see their vibrantness a little better here.
And of course a visit to my favorite part of the zoo: the aquarium. I love that place, especially the aquarium tunnel. The jelly fish are dreamy too (even though I'm terrified of them!).
Fishies everywhere!
And of course, some drawings! I didn't actually make these at the zoo, since it's literally impossible to draw there without people constantly looking at you and commenting on it or forming a giant hoard of kids around you, which is something my anxious self can't handle.

I was exhausted by the end of the day, but it was definitely a fun break from all the hard work!

It's Bananas!

I've been OBSESSED with bananas lately. Not just regular bananas, but banana everything. Banana green tea, banana hair products, banana ice cream, banana toothpaste (no wait, I don't have that yet.)

Not only are bananas delicious, they also have a lot of health benefits! And they also make for some really cute products, which I discovered while browsing the banana side of Etsy:
Bananas! Etsy treasury list
Have you had your banana for the day yet? c:

My Summer to-do list!

Summer To-Do List:

♥ Visit museums
Two I already have on my list are the cat museum and the GO Gallery in Amsterdam and the fashion biennal in Arnhem, but I'm sure there will be lots of other interesting shows over the summer!
(source)
♥ Stay in a different place/city for a couple of days
Last year my mom and I stayed in Amsterdam for a couple of days (in the same hotel as in John Green's 'The Fault in Our Stars'!) and it was such a nice getaway, even if we were just about two hours away from home. I definitely want to do this again, but in a different place.

♥ Have a picnic at the beach
For some reason, I always have a picnic at the beach at least once every summer. I prefer 'dinner picnics', in the late evening with fresh pasta salad, bread, chicken and fresh fruit.
Moonrise Kingdom
♥ Make a zine
Maybe just a zine of my 'summer adventures', or just random stuff. I don't know, but I want to make one.

♥ Take lots of (instax) pictures
So far I haven't used my new instax mini camera too much, but summer vacation feels like the perfect time to use this baby more!
(source)
♥ Send lots of fun mail/postcards
I haven't been able to send out a lot of fun mail lately... I want to change that this summer!

♥ Make jewellery/accessories
I want to try making at least all the things I listed right here!

Explore my city more: discover smaller cafes/shops/other places
There are places in my own city I've been wanting to go for some time, places I dont even know exist, cupcake shops that have to be tested...
Ten To Three Bakery
(source)
♥ Go to concerts/festivals
I already have one concert and one festival planned! And I'm sure there are many more (free) ones to be added to that list.

♥ Make picture books out of my photographs of the past few years
I've taken lots of pictures over the past few years and I think it's a shame they're just sitting there on my laptop. I really want to make picture books out of them.. maybe I'll get to that this summer.

♥ Visit lolita store in Bilthoven
I've been wanting to visit this store for such a long time, so this summer, it has to happen. Especially after seeing this post about it on Icosnap! Cute!!
♥ Have a Hello Kitty high tea
Another thing I've been meaning to do for a long time (and coincidentally icosnap made a post about too!) There's a place not too far from here that organizes Hello Kitty high teas, and I really do want to stuff my face with anything Hello Kitty, literally!
(source)
♥ Finish portfolio website + business cards
This has to happen this summer. Not just for school, but also for myself. I want to figure out what kind of work I have for my portfolio right now and see where I want to go from here :)

Do you already have plans for this summer?
