♥ Current Loves: Super Kid and Pink Hotels ♥

I feel like every post of mine lately is about things I love/am excited for, but I don't care (I love it)! I like to document my life, and how I usually do that in my regular journal is by making lists like these and write about them a bit more in detail. Sometimes I can barely get three (my minimum) on that list, and sometimes I simply can't stop! I think it's good to write down things that make you happy, because you tend to forget about them so easily.For some reason the sometimes sucky times in life overshadow the nice things in no time (for me anyway). I think it's important to keep counting your blessings every day and find beauty in the little things. How about you write down the things that make you happy and/or you're thankful for right now?

Things that make me happy right now...

♥ The fact that we just had the first day of spring! (let's just forget about the fact we got snow right after)
♥ Finally I sat down and gave my blog a much needed make over! I needed something cleaner, simpler and lighter. Do you like? Because I do! The one thing I like about Spring is that you get to break out of that dark, stuffy hibernation mode and freshen everything up!
♥ Finally getting to touch up my roots and have fresh, shiny pink hair again
♥ Finding the most amazing ice cream at Laura Secord (Super Kid and Bubblegum Swirl, with actual bubblegum pieces)
♥ the fact we still had another tub of said ice cream in the freezer the next day. Omnomnom

♥ Preparing dinner together
♥ Getting to contribute to my boyfriend's Bioshock Songbird statue that he's been wanting to get for ages
♥ Cleaning and tidying up our living space
♥ These tarot cards designed by Aya Takano

♥ A baby being born! And getting to hold such a cute little boy in your arms
♥ Drinking hot water with fresh lemon
♥ Blogilates' best stretches for chilling out

♥ The Grand Budapest Hotel! We went to see it last night and it was amazing. Beautiful sets, great actors (especially 'Voldemort' hehe) and lots of laughs. Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom) does it again!

♥ Christmas in Canada ♥

Hello lovelies! It has certainly been a while.. my life has done a complete 180 and therefore this blog got a little neglected. I have so many pictures to share though so I reckoned I shouldn't procrastinate any longer and start posting some on here! Ready for the cold? :)

The day right before I arrived in Toronto, Canada there had been a huge ice storm.. it got me a little worried about my flight but luckily I had no delays whatsoever! All I got was some amazing scenery the next day (and a whole lot of icy coldness when I got off the plane, brrrrr). Anyway, all the trees (and everything else) was covered in ice and it sure did some insane damage I had never seen before...

I think I took these pictures on christmas day...  I arrived on christmas eve, got picked up by my lovely boyfriend and his friend at the airport and was welcomed by a wonderful family where I continued to stay for the next 4 weeks.

This is some of the crazy damage the ice storm did. Branches just broke off and trees split right through the middle.

A few days later, on the 28th, we had a christmas (dinner) party where I got to meet even more amazing people! And finally had a good excuse to use my mini instax polaroid again :)

After a long night, the boyfriend and I went to Disney on Ice the next day. Obviously there were a lot of kids, but it was still awesome. The costumes, skaters and effects were amazing. I tried taking some pictures, but they just wouldn't stand still! I guess that's a good thing though..

After that we went to get some dinner and walked around downtown Toronto for a little bit (it was cooooold). The CN Tower even had christmas colors!

Those were the first few days of my Canada adventures. More to come soon when I can be bothered to sort and edit more pictures. I can tell you though: booking that ticket has been one of the best decisions I ever made n.n

Pink Phone, Pops and cute zombies.

I just returned from a long and eventful weekend at my mom's! And guess what happened!? 

I got my first smartphone! 

For forever I've been lugging around second hand phones, most of them Nokias. My last phone's screen was entirely cracked and the battery had actually swollen up so it wouldn't fit properly anymore. But it still worked. It had a glow in the dark unicorn sticker on it. So I used it until... it was basically impossible to read anything anymore and it just died every time I pressed a button. I just didn't want to become a 'smartphone zombie', staring at that stupid thing all day instead of talking to people. But I hardly talk to anyone anyway so I thought 'oh what the hell! Let's do this!'.

So I got an iPhone 4. Obviously I got a nice hotpink case to start with, but I definitely want to get something different eventually, and add a cute phone charm. I've been up until past 4 am to play with this ridiculous thing. It is now already filled with Hello Kitty and puricute apps. T.T Do you know any more apps I should definitely get?

Besides a phone, I also got some random stuff I don't need but yet DO need in my life. Hello Kitty lollipops, an ice cream watergun and some cute washi tape!

Luckily the weater was mostly nice so I got to laze around in the sun, read 1Q84 (one of the greatest books ever) and eat these sour rainbow jelly beans my sister got me!

I also spotted this little guy stashed away somewhere behind some boxes at a local thrift store. Poor Mr. Clean. He keeps on smiling though!

I'm off now playing Hello Kitty World again, so cute! Does anyone else play it? Because I need more friends! Or just any other game. Haha yes I am probably going to be a smartphone zombie, but I'll be like a... cute/kawaii smartphone zombie? I'm sorry guys.

This post is mainly about ice cream.

Fresh new lay-out!

It's still a little bit under construction and I'm still changing, adding and removing stuff every now and then, but I was in desperate need for a change (especially those annoying border around my images were annoying the heck out of me). And I have time to do that now because my summer holidays have officially started!! I've truly outdone myself this semester. I couldn't believe it when they said I got an 8 (out of 10) for my final presentation!

We celebrated that evening with a super yummy dinner at one of my fav restaurants (I had this amazing aubergine/hazelnut/feta cheese oven dish) and an amazing dessert I shared with two other ladies who were craving sweetness too. It had three flavors of Ben & Jerry's, chocolate mousse, Turkish delight, this delicious cotton candy like stuff, pineapple, whip cream and oh damn so much more. I should've taken a picture..

Other things making me happy... Oatmeal with egg! (am I the only one who never had an egg in their oatmeal before?) - Katy Perry's Wide Awake and Marina and the Diamonds' Power and Control (or well.. basically all her songs right now) - This card I received from Lee Xin Yu from Malaysia.. it has to be my favorite one EVER.

finally continue watching Samurai Champloo <3 - hikes to the beach - sunshine. just sunshine. - buying nice products for my poor damaged hair - dreaming of getting a cute persian cat - shoes with an ice cream cone as a heel, ummmm yes plz!?

Hope everyone will have a great weekend! I'm kind of excited about my mum coming over this weekend. I hardly ever have guests!
