Let me Brighten your Wednesday.

Today I got stopped by a cop on a bicycle for jaywalking. Needless to say, I freaked out. There would honestly be no way I would've been able to forgive myself for getting myself into the mess of having to pay for something unnecessary once again. But he let me go with just a warning! It made me so happy that I wanted to share some pretty/hilarious/witty/day brightening things with you guys as well:

These terrific ladies:

This is so open and honest and hilarious! I love you, Rookie.

Current Obsession: Making Badges!

When I saw this diy on Rookie on how to make your own awesome decoupage badges, I knew it was the thing for me! But impatience was the problem here. I couldn't find decoupage shapes to my liking anywhere and was too impatient to order them. BUT, a couple of days ago I found some really good and perfect decoupage hearts at a local store for cheap and brought two bags of them home with me right away n.n I'm now hooked on turning these little wooden hearts into awesome badges. The possibilities are endless!
I like my craft projects easyinexpensive and quick. I'm honestly a very impatient person and once a project (or anything really, a person, a pizza..) takes too long I either loose interest or throw a tantrum (or both). I know that patience can pay off in the end, but it's just not for me.
The pictures I used where either cut from magazines or from my clippings folder, but you can honestly print out anything and everything you want and put it on there. Which is exactly what I'm planning to do next. The only thing I couldn't find anywhere where the flat pinbacks, so I had to order those online.. ugh! But thankfully the company I ordered them was super fast and I could glue them to my first badge of hearts the next day!

My favorites right now are the three eyed cat (from a painting by Marion Peck) and the one with John Cusack and Ione Skye in Say Anything

Badges action shot!
I figured these would make really cute presents too, so I'm planning on making some special ones for friends! If you're bored, go make some too c: maybe we can do a swap!

**Halloweenoccino and puppycats**

Some little things that inspire me or just make me happy on this August day c:...

did anybody else hear that?
An awesome playlist at 8tracks to get in the Halloween mood!

Bee and PuppyCat
The greatest cartoon I've seen in a while. Be sure to check out part 2 too!

Pretty pictures...
Pretty pillows, want! - Halloweenoccino - some wisdom I need to live by more - bat candle holders! - pink sparkly runnins shoes, second want! - pretty hands - some pretty damn awesome pumpkins
You Will Not Hook Up at the Show
This is so recognizable and a great reality check! Oh how many times I went to a concert and thought: 'tonight's the night!' Never happened though. If there's one thing I hate most, it's talking to someone when loud music is playing so that doesn't really help. Hooking up at a show (mostly) just doesn't work for some weird reason.

This Girl's Outfit
Like many other people, I always tend to gravitate to darker colors fashion wise when fall and winter come around. I have that exact same dress (which I hardly ever wear because it's a little short) and OMG, it looks so cool with an underbust corset! I'm all about black, lace and corsets right now so I'm definitely tempted to get a similar corset and copy this look. So cute and pretty.

Chris Ashton Kutcher's speech at the Kid's Choice award
Seriously, this made me cry happy tears (and those girls screaming 'woo!' all the time made me cry tears of sadness).

My Kawaii Style videos by Tokyo Fashion
Haruka Kurebayashi is so incredibly adorable, and I love her style tutorials that Tokyo Fashion has been posting lately. Not even necessarily to try out the tutorials myself, but it just makes me so happy to see her putting on bright make-up and doing her rainbow hair. I want to start a beauty salon with her and give everyone brightly colored hair and they can have lollipops and dance to fun music while the dye is in their hair.

Copselfies tumblr
I love taking selfies, and I don't mind others taking selfies! So cops can do it too. They make it quite hilarious and entertaining though.

Current Loves: girls, girls, girls and dancing.

Good morning! Or evening, afternoon, wherever you might be! I wanted to have a quick break in between the Roadtrip posts to share some of my current favorite things with you. Because, well, I'm just feeling more like doing that today. It's Sunday and I'm bored sitting here waiting for my hair to be done and craving a chocolate chip muffin yet refusing to leave the house today. I actually went to get one yesterday and then forgot my wallet... I cursed, had to put the (last!) muffin back and go back home empty handed.

Not a good day. Not good at all.
Okay, on to the positive stuff now...!

Sex and the City
Can I have your wardrobe please, Carrie?
I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but I'm obsessed with Sex and the City right now. I'm half way season 4. I just randomly watched it on tv once out of boredome and was hooked straight away. It's funny, honest, relatable and the fashion in it (of Carrie especially) is awesome. I guess it's also a nice show to watch while I wait for new Girls episodes!

24 important pieces of life wisdom from the ladies of 'Girl Code'
I've never heard of or watched MTV's show Girl Code before, but this sure is some damn good (and funny!) advice. I believe this is the kind of stuff we should teach kids in school!

Dance tutorial videos on youtube
I'm not a dancer, and I don't think I ever will be. Yet, whenever I'm bored these days I just look up a dance tutorial on youtube and dance around like an elephant on rollerskates! Maybe if I keep going at it I'll look like a... gazelle on rollerskates someday.

Alkaline Trio's My Shame Is True LP in PINK
In this picture are two of my favorite things ever. Alkaline Trio AND hot pink. *faints* It's amazing. I wish I could get it but 1. I really really really have to save money and 2. I don't own a record player. But it's still amazing. Only about two more weeks until the concert!! Eeeep!

Lauren and Derek's episode on Catfish
I love the show Catfish, and this must've been one of my favorite episodes yet. I screamed, I cried, I laughed and I awwwwwed. USA readers can watch the episode here, and if you don't live there you can find a free stream here! Just go watch it, you won't regret it.

Obviously, I like the things I like on Pinterest. I just never really looked at my likes until just now and I think it's funny how clearly it shows who I am, what my interests are, what kind of person I might be. It's like the world in my head, the one I want to live in, shown in pictures on a screen.

Totally Biased: NYC Women Talk Cat Calling

A little bit more feminism for you! More stuff that should be shown to kids in school.

Hope you'll have a lovely, relaxing Sunday! I'm going chocolate chip muffin hunting again.

Hearts in my eyes and donuts on my bed.

Current loves...

My new hot pink heart shaped glasses  lemon pie tea  finding out there's a cat museum not too far from me  the smell of fresh, clean bedsheets  Listening to The Gaslight Anthem in the dark  reviews of human beings on Rookie ♥ Retro summertime music

I have a lot to get done for school tomorrow.. fun stuff, but still a lot. It involves a zombie rescuing a cat, so I suppose that's not too bad. But still, I can't wait any longer for a loooooong vacation.

Friday Loves: Amazing Ladies and Kitties

Friday Loves...

Vans x Hello Kitty Summer 2013 collection!
To me this is one of the most perfect collaborations ever. I'd love to get my hands on some apparel or that super cute tote bag! Since I think owning two pairs of Hello Kitty shoes in enough for now...

Gwen Stefani rocking this outfit
I think she's one of the very few women who can pull this look off...
This woman is amazing and so incredibly cute! “Don’t hang out with people who make you feel less than amazing.

Katy Perry: Part of Me Movie
And since we're talking about amazing women... I watched the Katy Perry movie yesterday and omg.. it's amazing. I don't now why I haven't watched it sooner. It never came to theaters here and I think at a certain point I had just forgotten about it. Go watch it for instant inspiration!

This quote
Because it's the truth.

The Art of Being Choco Moo – Interview & Live Painting in Tokyo

This video is so inspirational, too! I can really relate to her story, especially the part where she talks about how something 'opened up' for her when she visited the United States. And I adore her art.

And of course a gif of some kitties working out.
Because how else can you end a post with so much love?

Inspiration: Flowers and a kettle print dress,

Kettle print dress on SheInside - First Date eyecandy on Rookie
Sorry I don't have the original source of most of these images anymore, but I just really wanted to put together a little collage of pictures that inspire me right now. Lots of flowers! I'm excited about getting some spring flowers for my home soon n.n The weather has been amazing the past few days, evaluations are going great and I finally get to go and see my family again this weekend! Yay for better days

Hope you're having a good week so far!

Easter Sunday Funday

Happy Easter everyone! I'm still doing homework. And if I'm not I'm either reading in the Rookie Yearbook or watching a John Hughes movie, so not complaints here! And during homework I enjoy listening to any mix on 8tracks tagged with the 80s (which more than once caused the absolute need to dance around my room for at least 30 seconds). And of course I document everything of these very exciting happenings in my little home for you.
Easter breakfast! Bagel with scrambled egg and banana. Oh how festive I am this year.
Pretty Guess ads found while browsing through old magazines.
Drinking tea on my  (very floraly) bed
Pretty pretty illustration in the Rookie Yearbook
Drawing shoes on the floor. Because school.
I haven't even had a single chocolate egg yet because I didn't trust myself with an entire bag of those in my house and my dad didn't get me a chocolate bunny this year. It is the sad (but healthy) truth.

♥ Rookie Yearbook One ♥

I'm not allowed to spend money on things I don't absolutely, desperately need. So it was more than reasonable for me to buy this.

I knew I needed this book in my life ever since it came out, but after lots of bad experiences with ordering art books from the USA online I figured I would just wait for a bit. BUT, then I randomly visited my local bookstore and there it was... sitting beautifully on one of those plastic display thingies, simply screaming at me to take it with me. So I obbeyed. There was no way I was going to leave the store without the books after I got my hands on it. I seriously feared that if I did put it back, somebody was going to snatch it away and I would have to live with that regret for the rest of my life.

Rookie is easily my all time favorite thing on the interwebs, and having it now sit among my pretty books makes me think and feel a lot of very happy things. Happyhappyhappy.

Stickers! Could this book become any more perfect?

I highly recommend getting this book! You can get it right over here! Or it might just magically appear in your local bookstore as well.
