The Little Things: Book Rainbows & Starburst Candles

I really have to start writing these down again. I've been really slacking in the gratitude department lately and it makes it hard to come up with these posts sometimes. I got a cute little notebook in the last Kawaii Box so maybe I should start using that! Posts like these are a reminder to myself and others that there is always something to be thankful for, no matter how small it might seem :) here is my list of awesome little things:

♥ Randomly looking at houses in california and florida with my babe and daydreaming about our future home ♥ Finally getting my hands on ' your beauty mark' and reading it on snowy days ♥ Dita's perfume erotique ♥ chocolates with strawberry cream filling ♥ putting together a treasure hunt for valentine's day (with the best stuffed panda as a price at the end) ♥ doing my first succesful pincurl set and brushout! ♥ Getting a new desk! ♥ Reorganizing all of our books and decorating the desk ♥

♥ Browsing books on Kijiji ♥ Play breaks with the cat ♥ As Above So Below, this movie was so incredibly scary and it's been a while since I've been so terrified while watching a movie. Last time was probably when I watched the Blair Witch Project by myself at 2 in the morning. First person/found footage style horrors with 'unknown evil' scare me the most. I almost had to turn it off! ♥ Spinning records more often! ♥ Dancing to JD McPherson in the kitchen with the bf while peeling potatoes ♥ Starburst scented candles ♥

♥ Chicken Souvlaki Pita's from Greek Brothers. Omg french fries on your pita? Spicy Tzatziki? Heaven. ♥ Painting all day ♥ The first pictures of the Miss Peregrine's Movie ♥ The game Neko Atsume Cat Collector. It's so pointless but so addicting! ♥ Receiving a cute postcard from my family back home ♥ Re-watching 'Meet the Barkers'. The boyfriend and I have been on a MTV celebrity reality show kick lately. It's so bad but so good ♥ Grilled Cheese with ketchup ♥

Little (& big!) Things: Muse, Shoes and Cakes

I haven't done one of these in a while and thought it was about time! So many things have happened in the meantime (both little and BIG) that I will probably forget to name some of them.. But I'll do my best. At first January seemed off to a slow start but eventually it definitely started to pick up!

Winning the Shoe Design contest of Collectif Clothing! I could not believe it when I heard the news. It's not 100% certain that my design(s) will actually be available in their shop in the future, but they're working on actually making them :) at least I got to shop for some pretty new dresses. But of course the ultimate price would be to see my design in their store!

The Fallout 4 Soundtrack (and watching the boyfriend play the game) ♥ Buying an entire cookies and cream cake just because we're craving cake (cake for daaaaaays) ♥ Re-watching all the seasons of The Osbournes ♥ Getting into Bates Motel! This show was recommended to us multiple times, but for some reason we never bothered. What a BIG mistake. This show is amazing! ♥ Going to a Casino for the first time. We didn't win anything but their cheesecake was SO GOOD.

Seeing Muse live! This was a dream come true. Their show was absolutely amazing and Matt's voice sounded godly. Definitely the best concert I've ever been to.

The real Cherry Dollface blog. Cherry Dollface is going to try and write a blogpost every day for the year 2016, and they're all honest little tid bits about her life. Super interesting, comforting and fun to read. I look forward to her post every day :)

A woman giving me a 20 dollar bill at the movie theater as a good deed! ♥ Sweet compliments on Twitter ♥ Early birthday presents! ♥ Late birthday presents! ♥ Cheesecake with cherries ♥ Homemade tomato soup on a cold & snowy day ♥ Getting a haircut and rocking a pretty, curly blowout for daaaays (and everyone complimenting me on my hair) ♥ Muse's album Drones and listening to the title song while the snow is falling down ♥ doing more elaborate nail art ♥ playing around with my new computer!

The Little Things: Hello Kitty and Halloween!

It's been a while, but it's finally time again for an appreciation post! Everytime I do these I realize I take way less pictures than I used to. I should get on that because it's nice to look back at pictures from a few years ago, even if they're just of random stuff!

Or basically on becoming an adult and still having pink hair, reading comics and dressing like a 10 year old. Some people might criticize you or not take you seriously, but what counts is that you are happy with your life and decision. What anyone else thinks of you is none of your business. ♥

The Little Things: Fancy Pyjamas & Silly Pandas

The past few days have been quite stressful. I feel like everyone around me is either stressed, going through some kind of depression or has relationship problems. Maybe it's because it's pretty much the end of summer? I have no idea. All I know is that my journal was constantly getting filled with worries and stress that even just picking it up made me anxious. I honestly feel like burning it, but I don't really have a suitable place to do so. ANYWAY, I've decided to snap out of this stressful mindset, buy myself a brand new journal (preferably the one mentioned underneath, but we'll see!) and get back in full swing with making gratitude lists, daily affirmations, working out, eating well, work on my art (draw, photograph etc.) and spin lots of records and have dance breaks all day. Here's a small gratitude list of the past few weeks!

Buying my very first maxi dress (honestly, it's like fancy pyjamas!) ♥ hanging out on the lawns at a concert ♥ finding strange caterpillars in the garden - the cutest Kate Spade journal ♥ winning a $50 HMV giftcard ♥ making silly panda videos for my boyfriend ♥ seeing the (bright pink!) packaging I designed being mass produced ♥ spinning records of Elvis and Uke Hunt ♥ going for long walks ♥ setting alarms for daily affirmations on my phone ♥ going through old pictures of teenage me (and wondering where the time has gone!?) ♥ re-reading The Prisoner of Azkaban before bed ♥ delicious nectarines ♥ browsing through the new Ikea catalogue! (probably one of my favourite passtimes) ♥ our cat hilariously sliding off of a pile of cardboard boxes ♥ banana bread - banana everything ♥ watching Dutch teen series on youtube when I'm homesick ♥ My dad telling me he's sending me Stroopwafels!

Pink Kate Spade journal: Eat Cake For Breakfast

I also recently made a new illustration I'm pretty excited about :) Halloween + food is probably one of my all time favourite combinations when it comes to making illustrations! As usual, prints & lots more of this are available over at my Redbubble shop.

I've been keeping journals my whole life. My past two have both been gifts, but for some reason I can never fill up a gifted journal. It's weird. I have to actually go to a store and find the one. Once I do, my entries are usually a lot more positive, I write more often and always fill them all the way. Sorry about this boring journal talk.. It's just something I'm very passionate about!

What is making you smile? One of my number one tips to a more positive, happier life is making a gratitude list every day. It keeps you in the moment and reminds you to be happy now, rather than thinking you'll only be happy when you get that new car or a better job. It takes from practice, but it's totally worth it!
