The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant. - Eleventh Doctor

Been feeling pretty damn low the past few days. I just want to crawl under the covers and stay there until someone actually cares and crawls under the covers too and stays there with me until everything is alright again.

Candy Christmas

***
One of my favorite things to do when Christmas is near? Go to a big department store! There's one specific department store in our country called 'de Bijenkorf' (translated: the beehive) that always has the prettiest enormous decorated Christmas trees and too much Christmas goodness <3

Look at the cute reindeers!

I would've taken more pictures if one of their sales ladies didn't keep staring at me. They had  a lot of really cute glittery candy shaped tree decorations... I didn't get anything though. I only went into town to buy sprinkles, sequins, gems and eyelash glue for my photography project!

Dear Santa

***
WANT. They're available now at Sanrio boutique stores and Sanrio.com

This Momiji doll is super cute too
Talking about Christmas... I recently entered the Reddit Secret Santa project and today I got my 'match'! It's gonna be hard to find something for my match though, because interests wise we're not a match at all (besides the fact we both listen to Disney soundtracks, yes I creeped my match a little bit).

It's supposed to be the biggest, world record breaking Secret Santa ever! I wonder who my Secret Santa is gonna be and what they'll get me...

Lindsey Way and fat cats.

***
Like LynZ is like... so inspiring (just kidding, I say 'like' too many times in one sentence too). I randomly watched some interviews with her and she's so open and honest and sweet. She was the huge art nerd in the corner of the classroom who didn't have a boyfriend 'till she was 19? Hello twin sister. No seriously. And I had no idea that besides being a bad ass bassplayer she's an amazing artist as well. Check out some of her amazing dioramas:
Look at all that detail! And it looks so clean and perfect. Now I'm dying to try and make a diorama too.. which probably won't be until the next semester. But it's still an awesome idea. You know what's also an awesome idea? Caramalised Pear and Chocolate Mint tea, mmmmhmmmm delicious <3

Got to go work on my package design for my Fat Cat Chocolate now. Isnt it the best name ever? I mean, cats and chocolate, what more could a cat lady wish for?

Creativeness and Coughs.

***
The past few days have been hectic to say the least. I feel like before Christmas is here I really got to push myself and get a shitload of stuff done for school. It's fun, but straining. I've got to make books, packaging, posters, prints, papers... and still I seem to have too much time on my hands and manage to fill up the pages of extra writing space every week in my diary.
School stuff. I designed some bananas today that I think are pretty damn awesome. I wish I could've used them for my own design, but I'm still stuck with my avocado...
And I'm preparing some various etches for the first time! This is the plain one, but we've got two more that'll be processed differently. One of which is going to have to be dropped in acid. Acid freaks me out. I'm afraid my hands will burn off, even with those massive protection gloves on..

It's starting to get really cold around here and I'm developing a really bad cough.
I love you winter but mehhh...

Justin Long makes a sexy squash.

***
I am in love with the new Fox series New Girl. I thought it couldn't get any better, but then they made an episode with Justin Long. What kind of perfect combination is this!? Ah yes and he was also in a squash costume.
And guess what!? He's going to be in even more episodes!

Jess be honest, is the turkey named Paul?
Nick was obviously so jealous. Making his little turtle face. Eeep why can't the episodes just last for an hour?

Awesome Avocados

***
My new assignment for school is to design a poster that promotes a certain fruit or vegetable. I chose and avocado! You're only allowed to use that one (in my case) vegetable and nothing else. No fruit faces or accesories allowed. It has to look tasty and delicious all by itself... So here's some avocado inspiration.

Pictures (excl. my sketchbook) found via weheartit.com
It's quite a challenge but I'm really starting to have fun with it! Because of this assignment I actually got to dissect an avocado and found out how beautiful the seed is once you peel/skin it!

I'll keep you updated on my avocado adventure. Oh joy!

Hello Kitty says hello to Holland.

***
PuriCute!
I went to the Hello Kitty exhibition yesterday. In my little country we have one museum completely dedicated to Japan, and this time also to Hello Kitty (MEOW!) Remember how I once went crazy and considered to study Japanese? Well it's around  there.

The lady at the counter wasn't very nice. She had to inspect my student ID very thoroughly for some reason. She told all the other visitors where they could store their stuff and they got cute stickers and a booklet upon return while I was just left with a dumb map. I guess it were my pigtails.. I'm starting to think people don't like pigtails.

It wasn't very big, but I didn't expect it to be so.

Cute murals while I climbed my way up! I can haz them on my wall plz?
Miss Shimizu herself!
The Hello Kitty timeline
One of the highlights for me: spotting artwork of Tara Mcpherson!
This was a selection of Hello Kitty stuff from three big collectors in our country. Why didn't they contact me??
I'm not a big Gaga fan, but these pictures (and outfits!) are still pretty cool!
Cute seats! Unfortunately my bag was a bit too small to sneak one with me..
Another collection of a thirty-something (!) year old guy. Unf.
Look at that cute little sake set!
One of the downsides of going alone? No picture of yourself with Hello Kitty :c
Tarina Tarantino jewelry <33
Now, BEHOLD the dutch Hello Kitty:
Only Hello Kitty is able to look dutch and cute at the same time.
Then I thought it was over already, BUT NO. I followed the little Hello Kitty arrows and found more hidden downstairs. Thank you grumpy counter lady for pointing that out.

Hinamatsuri figurines. I thought these were so pretty.
More cute kitchenware. Sometimes it was almost tormenting that nothing was for sale..
I wonder if the counter lady knows about this place?
And then it really already was over. The special Hello Kitty things they had in the store were way overpriced, so I only got myself a poster as my walls are still so empty. My daily need for Hello Kitty has been satisfied yet again.
