Omoi Zakka Shop

While browsing online shops for pretty stationary I stumbled across this shop that was simply too amazing not to share: Omoi Zakka Shop

The Butterfly Garden

I've been away for a couple of days visiting my grandfather. We're not that close (I hadn't seen him in two years!) but we reckoned it would be nice to stay with him for a little bit. He lives in a nice little house right next to the woods AND they had the cutest 9 weeks young little kitten n.n I had been dying to play with a kitten for weeks!!

We also went to visit the nearby Butterfly Gardens. It was so nice and dreamy. I want a garden like this right next to my home so I can go and dream there on a daily basis. I want to share some pictures with you guys!

The butterfly on the left creeped me out a bit. HE'S WATCHING YOU. And aren't the patterns of the top butterfly super pretty!?

I was super excited to see the glasswing butterfly!! I had come across a picture of it sometime ago and I was amazed.. It has to be one of my favorite butterflies ever.

It was obviously very humid inside (hence the 'misty' effect in the first few pictures!) but at a certain point my camera seemed to get accustomed to it and the butterflies became better posers, just sitting on the plants letting me snap a couple of pictures. For some reason they also really loved sitting on my shoes.

They also had some other critters! All the caterpillars were so pretty and weird! And I also loved those vibrant yellow and green scarab beetles.

Since I tried fake lashes for the first time not too long ago I was excited enough about them to try out different kinds. Especially more dramatic ones! So when I saw the Katy Perry Oh, My! double effect lashes, I knew I had to get them! (I also wanted to get the Oh, Honey! ones but sadly they were sold out when I went to get them..)

When I put on the first one (which was surprisingly easy!) I feared they were going to be way too much! But oh was I wrong. They're so big and beautiful! Crazy Bambi eyes effect! 

Let me show you the magic of these lashes with this simple comparison...

I felt so 'naked' and 'lashless' when I took them off again at the end of the day! (yes you an easily wear them for a couple of hours without getting annoyed!) These lashes make you feel so sexy. I have no other words to describe them. They're also perfect for moments when you have to pull off your most innocent, fluttery lashes look (like if you want someone to make you a cappuccino or maybe even a sandwich). Succes guaranteed. Ice cream by the sea.

When my mother was at a hotel she saw this picture in a book and it reminded her of me, so she took a picture of it. I think it's perfect in every way. The pink ice cream, the plane, the sea, the book... She forgot to write down the artist, but I'm going to hunt the book down (Illustration Now! volume 2) and look it up.

The Fault in Our Stars
I just got this book and I honestly had to force myself to put it down as I don't want to finish it in one day. Not again. It's very addicting. I had seen multiple good reviews on this book, but it wasn't until I stumbled upon this quote (and listened to the interview) that I knew this was the kind of writer for me.

I went to my local bookshop where they only had the Dutch translation of it. I read the first page and couldn't stop reading after that. I prefer reading my books in english though so I went and ordered it online on a Saturday. Argh. I had to wait three terribly long days until it finally arrived.

Josh Hutcherson (and Hunger Games withdrawal)
You know, the very first time I saw him in the Hunger Games as Peeta I was like  'ehhhh.. what's up with his face?' (yes that really was the first thing I thought) but now I'm slightly (just slightly..) fangirling over him (and the bread jokes. OMG.)

I'm honestly going through a Hunger Games withdrawals, and that's when for me the fangirling, reading fanfiction, random merchandise buying and continuous soundtrack listening starts. I simply have to share this cast photo. They all look so precious!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
When I went to pick up my mom at the airport the other day, I had to wait a couple of hours so I got to look around a little bit. Then I walked into the international goodies supermarket stocked with my favorite american candy EVER. Peanut butter chocolate time! It's a good thing I only brought two packages with me since I ate them all already. So good.

But now just look at those! Reeses peanut butter cup and chocolate cheesecake bars!? If someone ever turns up on my doorstep with these little pieces from heaven I'd love them forever and ever and marry instantly. The cheesecake bars I mean. That's possible right?

I want a cat. My own cat. At my own place. When school starts anyway and I'll be back there again. So I've been browsing the internet looking at all the lovely (and sometimes not so lovely) kitties people have to offer. Lot's of 'dawwwwws' are involved in this process.

Finding cheap plane tickets
I am very tempted to buy a plane ticket to a random place in america and visit online friends. I just gotta get better at some freaking decision making! That's really all I have to say on this subject.

I'm in love...

...with Emma Stone. I already was, but for some crazy reason I forgot about that UNTIL I watched Easy A last night. She's so incredibly funny, I mean, this scene!! I've been watching it over and over again and I still can't help laughing like a crazy lady. Also, truly my life in 1 minute and 10 seconds.

But not only is she hilarious, but she's also very pretty and smart. And talented, obviously. Let's take a moment to take in the gorgeousness of this badass young lady.

Now I'm kind of excited about seeing her in the new Spider Man movie. Better take myself out to the movies again soon, since there are now people around here who are willing to watch Spider Man. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!?

Blogging from the backyard with a cup of tea and the neighbour cat squinting its eyes at me. Ah yes this is the good life. I have an art update! Yay! About time. I've worked on two things: painting bunnies on pebbles and finally making a little painting for my mom!

Bunny pebbles! They have sparkles too, but they don't show in the pic.
I'm not sure what to do with them yet. Any ideas?

My mom (I'm sorry I'm talking so much about her these days haha, I'm so silly.) loves religious/spiritual imagery. She has a whole wall filled with catholic icons. I've always wanted to make a painting for her and since I'm super inspired by religious/spiritual imagery myself too these days (check out my Pinterest board for it here!) I reckoned now was the right time to get started on it!

It's based on a postcard of Santa Rosa de Lima I sent sometime ago.
I also added some pressed flowers from the backyard.

In between painting I went into town for some random shopping/people watching. I picked up this pretty tray for the Turkish Tea set we had, but which was dusting away on a shelf! It fits perfectly. Anyone up for a cup of Turkish apple tea with me?

And then for my greatest score: a Hello Kitty top from the H&M kid's section for only 3 euros! The tag said 7, but it scanned 3. I don't know why, but for some reason that gave me a huge sense of accomplishment. Hehe. I've also been playing around with fake eyelashes, since we had them lying around and I got bored. Now, I like how you can create a super cute doll-like look with it, but damn, those things are annoying and make my eyes feel heavy/sleepy. I'll save them for special occasions only.
