art and ice cream

I am loving the cold weather! As long as you're dressed to it that is. And what do I do when it's cold? Eat ice cream of course! Well... not that I had been craving ice cream, but I had been wanting to try green tea ice cream for so long I just HAD to take it with me when I saw it.
It tasted almost exactly like I imagined it would (green tea, obviously) it wasn't super duper special and I think I'll always just prefer it as tea (except for green tea macha lattes!). But it was nice and creamy and a fun treat for while I was working on various projects.
One of those projects being a stopmotion booktrailer for The Hunger Games! I'm not too sure yet how it's going to turn out, but I'm glad the whole stopmotion part is done T.T
And also some little personal drawing/painting in my sketchbook! It's always a joy drawing some of PastelBat's outfits n.n or just creating anything pink/purple/sparkly/cutesy!
And that's about all I've been occupied with! Enjoy your Sunday c:

LOL I'm just kitten!

I'm supposed to still be working my butt off right now for school, producing drawings and crafts and paintings like it's NO BIG DEAL. Like I can do MAGIC. But then I realized I missed blogging and I had ideas floating around in my head for posts all week, but I just couldn't justify spending time on the internetz for myself. I have to work work work and everything else is just.. nonexistent. Obviously. Is this life? Is life supposed to be filled with work all the time. Does that make you an acceptable adult. Because if that is the case I want to grow up even less. Blegh.

But hey I'm still here! Still excited! As long as I have mini breaks I'll be fine. So what do I do during those mini breaks? Well, I'll tell you about that right now my darling readers...

find out Bubbles (Powerpuff Girls) is actually my cartoon self.
Bubbles has always been my favorite Powerpuff Girl, but now that I'm re-watching episodes I'm really starting to understand why that is! We're so much alike! I miss the good old days when I would watch that show every morning.
have long phone calls with my mom
It's basically impossible for me to go home these days, but phonecalls will cover that for now!
playing around with the Halloween features on PicMonkey
Ha I realize it's more Day of the Dead than Halloween, but it's my favorite of all themes!

♥ make wishlists on Etsy
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
I am drooling over that kitten shirt especially!
 read and write snail mail!
Nothing that cheers me up more than receiving a letter or a postcard!
cook a nice, yummy meal for myself and EAT IT ALL
watch beauty vloggers on youtube. Something about it really relaxes me. I especially like the videos of makeupkatie95, because she talks a lot and it's like having a friend over who talks to me about girly stuff while I'm working.
♥ ordering a ticket to see Conor Oberst in February!! Aaah!!

This post is pretty messy and all over the place, but whatever! Ok I better get back to work now I already start feeling bad about 'not doing anything'.

Catching Fire: Finnick!

Just a quick little Hunger Games related post, just because :)
And now finally, the actor for Finnick in The Hunger Games' Catching Fire has been chosen! Let me present to you:
Sam Claflin
Am I pleased? Well, first off, I have to say that the picture they chose to post on Facebook is absolutely horrible and I was really disappointed at first. Was this really that drop dead gorgeous man? BUT then I Googled him and I was like:
And now that it has sunk in I'm actually super excited! I can't say he's the most mindblowingly handsome man I've ever seen, nah, but he does kinda fit with the image in my head while I was reading the books. Lets hope his acting won't ruin everything. At least I'm very thankful they haven't picked some washed up Disney star or *GASP* Robert Pattinson (no offence. I was obsessed with him before the whole Twilight drama, but no. Just no.). Or Chris Hemsworth, ha, that would've been hilarious (since Liam Hemsworth plays Gale).

I am very pleased with the cast so far! They're doing a pretty good job in my opinion. Now we just wait until Catching Fire comes out. Until then I'll just have to keep re-watching the Hunger Games DVD. Oh the horror.

Wednesday Weaknesses

Wednesday Weaknesses...

The Fault in Our Stars
I just got this book and I honestly had to force myself to put it down as I don't want to finish it in one day. Not again. It's very addicting. I had seen multiple good reviews on this book, but it wasn't until I stumbled upon this quote (and listened to the interview) that I knew this was the kind of writer for me.
"So I sent an email to 7 of my friends, including Sarah, and I said, ‘Does anyone want to go see ‘Lost in Translation’ tonight?’ and then I sent an email immediately afterwards to the 6 of my friends who weren’t Sarah and I said, ‘NOT YOU.’" — John Green (on how he asked out his wife for the first time)

I went to my local bookshop where they only had the Dutch translation of it. I read the first page and couldn't stop reading after that. I prefer reading my books in english though so I went and ordered it online on a Saturday. Argh. I had to wait three terribly long days until it finally arrived.

Josh Hutcherson (and Hunger Games withdrawal)
You know, the very first time I saw him in the Hunger Games as Peeta I was like  'ehhhh.. what's up with his face?' (yes that really was the first thing I thought) but now I'm slightly (just slightly..) fangirling over him (and the bread jokes. OMG.)
I'm honestly going through a Hunger Games withdrawals, and that's when for me the fangirling, reading fanfiction, random merchandise buying and continuous soundtrack listening starts. I simply have to share this cast photo. They all look so precious!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
When I went to pick up my mom at the airport the other day, I had to wait a couple of hours so I got to look around a little bit. Then I walked into the international goodies supermarket stocked with my favorite american candy EVER. Peanut butter chocolate time! It's a good thing I only brought two packages with me since I ate them all already. So good.

But now just look at those! Reeses peanut butter cup and chocolate cheesecake bars!? If someone ever turns up on my doorstep with these little pieces from heaven I'd love them forever and ever and marry instantly. The cheesecake bars I mean. That's possible right?

Kittieskittieskitties
I want a cat. My own cat. At my own place. When school starts anyway and I'll be back there again. So I've been browsing the internet looking at all the lovely (and sometimes not so lovely) kitties people have to offer. Lot's of 'dawwwwws' are involved in this process.

Finding cheap plane tickets
I am very tempted to buy a plane ticket to a random place in america and visit online friends. I just gotta get better at some freaking decision making! That's really all I have to say on this subject.

Thursday smells of banana chips!

***
I love having 'in between' days off! Because that (usually) means for me I get to stay in my cosy home and yet I'm still productive because I know I still have one or two more days of school! I started the day off by making some banana chips (which I don't do often as it takes soooo long..)
To me this looks very tasty.
Then I DID have to go out because I still had to get my niece a present for her birthday (shopping for my little nieces is one of my favorite activities!) I got her a super cute french coloring book, because we usually color together whenever I get to see her. Oh how I'd love to color this one with her c:
I also got her some cute little stickers. Look at that sleepy guinea pig with the berret!
Before I went out I promised I wouldn't buy anything for myself, but I just couldn't resist these cute washi tapes and those nail polishes (they're called Cotton Candy and Lavender Cupcake <3)

Yesterday I took myself out to the movies to see The Hunger Games! I thought it was pretty good, though they did change up some things I didn't think was necessary and rushed through some of my favorite parts. It still was pretty much like I pictured everything in my head though! It did made me realize I would fit right in with the people from the Capitol. I wouldn't mind going for a (slightly less over the top) Effie Trinket style sometime though!
Have a great Thursday!

The Hunger Games is amazing.

***
Enough said.
Maybe I'm a bit late with jumping on the bandwagon but I don't care because The Hunger Games truly is an amazing book. I finished it today. I started reading it yesterday. I haven't read a book so addicting since the final Harry Potter book (which feels like AGES ago).

At first, Stephenie Meyer's name on the back with her praise for the book kind of put me off when I went to buy it (all of a sudden I had this impulse to go to the bookstore and get it, just out of the blue. It was destiny), but since everyone I know was all hyped up and raving over the whole thing I wanted to give it a try anyway. I'm glad I got over my 'I'm too cool for things everybody is talking about' attitude and DID give it a try. SO GLAD.

But now I'm AGONIZED because I don't have the next book and I'm dying to know how it continues! And then there's the movie of course! I'm planning on seeing it VERY SOON. Very, very soon. If our stupid cinema would be showing it I'd run there right now. But I guess our cinema does have an  'I'm too cool for things everybody is talking about' because all they're showing are movies I've never even heard of.

So go read it. Right now.
Just keep in my mind you might want to take the rest of the day off or just not sleep for a night because you won't be able to put it down.

Don't you just love it when you discover a new addiciting series of books? I am beyond excited. Is it possible to fall in love with a book? Because I feel all warm and fuzzy. Okay I'll shut up now.
May the odds be ever in your favor.

xoxo
