My 6 Favourite Youtubers

Today I thought I'd share some of my favourite youtubers with you! Youtube has always been one of my best friends (that sounds kinda sad but it's true!). It keeps me company when I'm working, doing beauty stuff or just feel all blah and uninspired. It's been my therapist, motivator and support. It has helped me learn new things about design, health and just.. life! I still remember when youtube just came out. I was amazed at what you could find on there (mostly emo music videos, anime and fanmade Harry Potter videos :P). ANYWAY, let's get to it!

Kiera Rose
I've been following Kiera for a while now. I started watching her videos when she was still Scarlet Saint and had bright turquoise hair! Thanks to her I've learned a lot about mental health and came to understand and identify my own mental health problems (social anxiety etc.). Her videos also helped me to accept myself just the way I am. She's such a kick ass lady with amazing style, her own little company and beautiful tattoos. I also think it's pretty cool she proposed to her boyfriend instead of waiting for him to take the plunge. All in all, Kiera is one of those people I never talked to or met in real life, but it feels like she's one of my best friends.

Cherry Dollface
Cherry is another youtuber who truly helped me to love myself and embrace who I am. She also helped me (and is still helping me) to dive more into the whole vintage/pinup culture and style. Another thing she taught me is to laugh at myself more, not take every little thing too seriously and that kindness is very important. The other day I sent her an email when she asked about places she should visit in Canada for her next makeup, hair & photoshoot tour with some recommendations (and begging her to come to Toronto!) and she actually replied to thank me! I might've squeeled and fangirled for a moment. The fact she actually took some time to reply and thank me really shows what a great person she is. I hope I'll get to meet her next year!!

Blogilates
Cassey Ho, the amazing lady who started Blogilates, is pretty much my work out buddy. I started doing her videos about 4/5 years ago and never looked back. Not only did I see big physical changes, most changes were actually mentally and spiritually. I'm a lot stronger and determined mentally now, am a lot more confident, and pilates has helped me so much with my anxiety. She truly believes that every body is beautiful. She admits her flaws. You're welcomed to the family no matter where you are on your fitness journey. She also educated me on clean and healthy eating and introduced me to the magic of 2 ingrediĆ«nt banana pancakes! Blogilates is the one hour of my day I always look forward to.

Bubzbeauty/vlogz
Lindy has a contagious positivity that always brightens my day! I especially enjoy watching her videos when I'm doing my nails or my stretches. I love getting a glimpse of her day to day life in her vlogs. Her baby is so adorable and the little captions she adds of what her son or dogs might be thinking always make me giggle.

PinupDollAshleyMarie
Another beautiful lady who introduced me to the wonderfulness of pinup style. Ashley Marie is so gorgeous and comes across as such a sweet yet fierce lady. Her hair skills are amazing and nails always on point. But she's also not afraid of showing her 'bare mug' and talk about loving yourself. Her style is also a big inspiration for me and I love the cute videos she makes with her boyfriend!

Vintagious
I found out about Vintagious only a little while ago while looking for a video showing some simple vintage hairstyles. Hers was in my opinion the greatest one. I love how down to earth she is and to the point in her tutorials. What also helps is that she has the same kind of hair as I do and it gave me hope that vintage styles are possible even when you have a big fuzzball on your head. Definitely go check her out if you want to start learning vintage hair and make up styles!

Do you follow any of these youtubers? Who else should I follow? Please share!

My Favourite Uses For Coconut Oil

I did it. I jumped on the Coconut Oil bandwagon. And let me tell you, I'm SO GLAD I DID! After seeing it pop up in countless of youtube videos and blogs I simply had to get my hands on a jar. So when I was at an eco/healthy grocery store the other day and saw literally an entire wall of different kinds I knew that was the day I would try this apparent magical substance.

This the one I got (after smelling and reading the labels of a lot of them) by Spectrum. I got it because it was cheap, organic AND has a rainbow on the front. You can basically get any kind as long as the labels says nothing else but (organic) coconut oil. Make sure the label reads either 'Virgin' or 'Organic', NOT 'Hydrogenated'. Real, natural coconut oil is odorless and tasteless. And even though I love the taste and smell of coconut I wanted the real deal! As for as I know, this is nothing but true organic coconut oil.

Sooo what can you do with it? Well, let's jump straight into it shall we!?

1. Make-up Remover
This is my number one favourite use! It literally melts that stubborn make-up off of your skin. Normally I'd wake up with mascara stains or would have to rub to get everything off. With this, I just warm a little bit between my fingers, gently rub it over my eyes and wipe it away with a tissue! Believe me, it's amazing. Super gentle, all natural and cheap. I do use a tonic afterwards for my entire face to feel fresh, but at least I don't have to rub my face anymore.

2. Make a coconut & sugar facial or body scrub
This is also a great, all natural way to clean and smooth out your skin. Just mix sugar and coconut oil together (I kind of eyeball it, and whatever is left I keep in a small air-tight container). Use finer sugar for you face (either store bought or put regular sugar in a blender and grind it) and regular sugar for you body. Just wash your face and/or body with soap afterwards and voila! Super soft and nourished skin.

3. Smooth out flyaways and dry ends
Yes you can even use it to style your hair! I'm always taunted but those pesky baby hairs, flyaways and dry ends. Just warm a tiny bit between your fingers and gently smooth over any hairs sticking out or hydrate your dry ends. It works great for me personally and instantly adds some shine to your hair. Surprisingly it doesn't make my hair greasy at all!

4. Soften your skin and strenghten your nails
Before I used coconut oil my nails were very weak and kept breaking all the time. It was driving me (coco)nuts! I love having long nails but they simply weren't co operating. Now I use the oil on my hands and massage it into my cuticles almost every night and my nails are super strong now and haven't broken in a while (let's hope I won't jinx myself) and my hands are a lot softer. I also like to rub a little on my lips once it's on my hands. Again, it's surprisingly not greasy at all and you could definitely use it as a full body moisturiser as well!

5. Oil Pulling
I admit it sounds a little gross, but hear me out. This oil is great for oil pulling. Basically what you do is take a tablespoon of oil and put it in your mouth. Swish it around for about 15-20 minutes and then spit it out in the trashcan (NOT in the sink. It will clog it). It's amazing for your oral health and whitens your teeth. I always feel like I just had a dental cleaning when I do it.

There's so many more things coconut oil is great for, but these are my personal favourites! Just google or youtube coconut oil and you'll find a lot more uses! Do you use it? Do you want to get jar now?

My 5 Favourite Blogs

I've been reading and writing blogs for a long time now. I've been on so many platforms like livejournal, deviantart, wordpress and now blogger and have been following other bloggers on here for a while as well. Over the years lots of them disappeared, or both them and I changed so much that I wasn't interested in following them anymore. ANYWAY, I thought it would be fun to make a list of blogs of which I read basically every single thing they post.

I was never the kind of girl to dream about her wedding. It was just never a priority to me. But thanks to Rock 'n Roll bride I started fantasizing about my wedding even before I met my boyfriend. Well, it's not even really about the wedding idea.. I mainly just love all the amazing photographs on there of off-beat weddings and people and to read about their stories. What can I see.. I just love seeing quirky people in love and having their 'happily ever after'. She also sometimes posts other things to inspire and/or motivate you and all in all it's just a great blog with good vibes all around!

Usually I'm not the biggest fan of 'daily outfit' fashion kind of blogs, but Ashley is the exception! She always has the greatest pin up inspired outfits and not to mention the greatest hair colours! All her colours and styles inspire me and make me smile every time. It's also great to watch her grow and develop as a woman. Going from one job to another, having a baby girl, balancing everything. She seems very genuine and down to earth. And I just want to own her entire wardrobe.

Just the layout of this blog will instantly make you smile (and have a cavity or two!). Sweetapolita makes the cutest and most beautiful, delicious looking cakes ever. Food is a huge inspiration for me creatively and her posts are sure to inspire me every time. I'm dying to get my hands on her brand new book, if even just to look at the pictures..

Cara's bright and colourful outfits always make me smile! Plus her banner has Hello Kitty and unicorns so you can't go wrong with that.. I love her pink and purple hair (I might be biased just a liiiiitle bit when it comes to that haha) her quirky style and pretty nail art. Again this girl seems very genuine and cool and that's what always attracts me to blogs. Plus she has a hot pink car. Enough Said.

This blog is from the awesome couple Jenny and Aaron and they have a super cute shop with all kinds of pastel coloured pastries to decorate your home. I always love their colour pallet with light pink and blue with a touch of black to even everything out. Jenny also posts the cutest little DIY and mixed media projects and always provides me with lots of creative inspiration! They also post some pretty delicious recipes every once in a while. After browsing through their blog looking for pictures to use for this post, I instantly feel like grabbing my craft supplies and create something deliciously cute!

Are you following any of these blogs? I'm kind of to lazy lately to look for new blogs to follow, so if you have any tips for me, please let me know!
