My 6 Favourite Youtubers

Today I thought I'd share some of my favourite youtubers with you! Youtube has always been one of my best friends (that sounds kinda sad but it's true!). It keeps me company when I'm working, doing beauty stuff or just feel all blah and uninspired. It's been my therapist, motivator and support. It has helped me learn new things about design, health and just.. life! I still remember when youtube just came out. I was amazed at what you could find on there (mostly emo music videos, anime and fanmade Harry Potter videos :P). ANYWAY, let's get to it!

Kiera Rose
I've been following Kiera for a while now. I started watching her videos when she was still Scarlet Saint and had bright turquoise hair! Thanks to her I've learned a lot about mental health and came to understand and identify my own mental health problems (social anxiety etc.). Her videos also helped me to accept myself just the way I am. She's such a kick ass lady with amazing style, her own little company and beautiful tattoos. I also think it's pretty cool she proposed to her boyfriend instead of waiting for him to take the plunge. All in all, Kiera is one of those people I never talked to or met in real life, but it feels like she's one of my best friends.

Cherry Dollface
Cherry is another youtuber who truly helped me to love myself and embrace who I am. She also helped me (and is still helping me) to dive more into the whole vintage/pinup culture and style. Another thing she taught me is to laugh at myself more, not take every little thing too seriously and that kindness is very important. The other day I sent her an email when she asked about places she should visit in Canada for her next makeup, hair & photoshoot tour with some recommendations (and begging her to come to Toronto!) and she actually replied to thank me! I might've squeeled and fangirled for a moment. The fact she actually took some time to reply and thank me really shows what a great person she is. I hope I'll get to meet her next year!!

Blogilates
Cassey Ho, the amazing lady who started Blogilates, is pretty much my work out buddy. I started doing her videos about 4/5 years ago and never looked back. Not only did I see big physical changes, most changes were actually mentally and spiritually. I'm a lot stronger and determined mentally now, am a lot more confident, and pilates has helped me so much with my anxiety. She truly believes that every body is beautiful. She admits her flaws. You're welcomed to the family no matter where you are on your fitness journey. She also educated me on clean and healthy eating and introduced me to the magic of 2 ingrediĆ«nt banana pancakes! Blogilates is the one hour of my day I always look forward to.

Bubzbeauty/vlogz
Lindy has a contagious positivity that always brightens my day! I especially enjoy watching her videos when I'm doing my nails or my stretches. I love getting a glimpse of her day to day life in her vlogs. Her baby is so adorable and the little captions she adds of what her son or dogs might be thinking always make me giggle.

PinupDollAshleyMarie
Another beautiful lady who introduced me to the wonderfulness of pinup style. Ashley Marie is so gorgeous and comes across as such a sweet yet fierce lady. Her hair skills are amazing and nails always on point. But she's also not afraid of showing her 'bare mug' and talk about loving yourself. Her style is also a big inspiration for me and I love the cute videos she makes with her boyfriend!

Vintagious
I found out about Vintagious only a little while ago while looking for a video showing some simple vintage hairstyles. Hers was in my opinion the greatest one. I love how down to earth she is and to the point in her tutorials. What also helps is that she has the same kind of hair as I do and it gave me hope that vintage styles are possible even when you have a big fuzzball on your head. Definitely go check her out if you want to start learning vintage hair and make up styles!

Do you follow any of these youtubers? Who else should I follow? Please share!

Healthy Hawaii Pizza!

My favorite kind of pizza to eat during the summertime is Hawaii pizza. It's just so deliciously fruity and tropical. But since I'm all about healthy and clean eating, pizza isn't really the kind of thing I eat on a regular basis, UNTIL NOW. I experimented in the kitchen for a bit and came up with a HEALTHY HAWAII PIZZA! What!? Yes. Trust me, it's delicious!
Tropical pizza goodness
I used the healthy pizza crust from Blogilates as a base. For this you need:
- 1/4 cup of dry oats
- 1 TBS ground flax seed (if you dont have that, just use flower! It worked fine for me)
- 1 egg

What you need for the toppings:
- 4 TBS of tomato sauce of your choice (I used one with basil)
- some (fresh) pineapple chopped in small pieces
- some shredded chicken breast
- any kind of low-fat cheese or cottage cheese
- some dried italian herbs to taste!

♥ Mix everything for the crust together and spread it thinly over a tin pan or a pizza plate. Place it in the oven at 350F for about 20-15 min until firm.

♥ Once crust is firm, take it out and slather tomato sauce on it.

♥ Then top it with your pineapple, chicken breast and of course some of that delicious cheesy goodness!

♥ Put it back in the oven at 350F for about another 15 min until it's nice and hot!

♥ Cut and enjoy the entire thing! Yes, just eat that entire delicious pizza. Omnomnom!

Of course you can top the amazing healthy pizza Blogilates base with anything you want. I can't wait to try out lots of other delicious combos n.n

Cupcakes and Khaki Scouts

Hello cutiepies!
Since I sent some postcards via Postcrossing again, I've found at least one postcard in the mail every day lately! It's so much fun! The one I got today took the cake though (literally!). It came from Taiwan so that wasn't much of a surprise n.n (all my favorite Postcrossing cards came from Taiwan..)
Cuppycakes!
Cuteness overload!
And talking about mail. Cassey from Blogilates posted a picture on her Instagram of all the mail she got in her P.O. Box and I'm so excited to see the postcard I sent in the pile (and the Valentine's Card of which you can only see the stamp)
Can you spot my card!? Source: Blogilates
Besides sending lots of mail, I've just been working on school and compulsively listening to the Moonrise Kingdom soundtrack. This inspired me to make a little Khaki Scout Badge when I had to take a break from homework

Tips for a fit 2013!

The one thing on most people's resolution list is usually something along the lines of get healthier/exercise more/loose those extra pounds. The new year starts, you jump right into it and eat super healthy and work out on a daily basis only to find yourself being a couch potato eating nutella out of the jar by the end of the month again (yup, I've been there too).

(source)
The thing about becoming fit and healthy is that it's a lifestyle. Of course you can loose those muffintops by portion control and working out like a crazy person, but if you want your results to last you're gonna have to make a whole lifestyle change. That means finding a balance between eating healthy foods and not so healthy foods and finding a work out routine that works for you. It takes time, and you probably won't see results in a matter of days but trust me, it's super duper worth it in the long run!

Here are some tips to get you started on a healthier lifestyle!

Resist!
What you buy, you eat. If you resist the urge to buy those cookies or cheesecake ice cream it most likely won't be a problem at all not to eat it, because it's not there! I'm not saying you can't buy cookies or ice cream ever again (I usually have some chocolate at home, just in case), but just try to only buy it when you think you're deserving of a little treat!

Find alternatives
Start eating whole grain instead of white, drink fizzy (lemon)water or fruity tea instead of soda, have popcorn  or crispy edamame as a snack instead of chips etc. etc. (check out these ideas!) Ever since I cut soda from my diet a couple of years ago, I swear, my body did a huge happy dance, and up until this day I don't miss it at all and actually cringe whenever I do have a sip. Which bring me to one of my personal rules: don't drink your calories. (unless we're talking about smoothies, then it's totally fine. YUM)

Get moving!
Walk or bike somewhere instead of taking the car/bus/whatever. Take the stairs instead of the elevator (no excuses!) Dance around your room to your favorite music a couple of times a week. Hold your abs in when you're sitting at that desk, stand on your tippy toes when you're brushing your teeth. Just keep moving!

Start a motivation board on Pinterest
Whenever I feel unmotivated I just take a look at my personal Healthy Living board. It's ideal for saving those inspirational quotes, clean recipes, cute work-out items and more!
Try some pop pilates!
I've been addicted to pilates for at least over a year now, all thanks to the greatness called Blogilates. Cassey Ho, the founder of Blogilates, has such a contagious and inspiring happiness that'll get you through those workouts smiling like a crazy person! There are tons of pilates and cardio videos to fun pop music, monthly work out calenders, meal plans and so much more. Check it out!

Keep a food journal
When you write down all the stuff you eat every day, you'll have a much better idea or your daily food intake. It will make it much easier to see where you could improve. No cheating! Write down that chocolate mousse you had for dessert. It's not like your journal is gonna tell anyone.

A healthy lifestyle isn't just about getting skinny or ripped at all! It's amazing for both your outside as it is for your inside. You'll feel stronger physically AND mentally. Ever since I started caring more about my eating pattern and exercise I've gradually become a happier and more positive person :)

If you're planning on changing your lifestyle, the most important thing to keep in mind is that you're doing it for YOU. If you're doing it for others it's most likely not gonna work. Have a wonderful day and if you have any tips or questions, please leave a comment down below!

Omnomnom heaven.

Look at my bat garland! I love it so much ^^ I do think my chandelier needs some cobwebs now...

Yesterday my sister and nephew came over. Now that was a treat already because I love having guests over! But guess what!? This was an ever bigger treat because they brought me macarons! (I bet my new macaron necklace has magic macaron bringing powers..) Look at the gorgeous box they came in...
...and look how pretty and yummy they look c: (we already shared one by this time... mmmm chocolatey)
The first and last time I had macarons was at the start of summer this year. Those were tiny ones and by far not as delicious as these. These were the real deal. Seriously. They melt in your mouth and have this intense taste explosion that makes you tastebuds go *_______*
That day I also made some sushi for dinner! When I saw Cassey's recipe for quinoa sushi I knew I had to make it too as soon as possible. And it's delicious! Ok so I always suck at the rolling part, but luckily this doesn't change the taste whatsoever.
Sushi is happy to go into my mouth.
Hope you'll have a fabulous weekend. I just feel like sleeping for the next two days.. but I can't! I gotta teach myself to sleep paint. That would be amazing.

Friday Loves.

***
Some things to love this Friday..
Washi Tape heaven! I nearly died when I saw these pictures of a special mt Store event in Osaka on the Omiyage Blog.

The new Blogilates Fitness Fashion collection! Ever since I started doing pilates I'm in desperate need of some pretty work out clothes. I love this Mint off the shoulder top, but this top and these booty shorts are to die for too!

This awesome nail sticker tutorial from The Beauty Department! I tried it out yesterday and it looks so cute! It also kind of reminds me of washi tape for some reason...

I am beyond excited about the Twenty10 Hello Kitty spring collection (coming out somewhere next week!)

The book Yumi by Annelore Parot. My mum got a postcard in the mail of it and I looked it up straight away to see what it was from! I want to get my hands on it (and all her other books!) as soon as possible <3

xoxo
