Healthy Hawaii Pizza!

My favorite kind of pizza to eat during the summertime is Hawaii pizza. It's just so deliciously fruity and tropical. But since I'm all about healthy and clean eating, pizza isn't really the kind of thing I eat on a regular basis, UNTIL NOW. I experimented in the kitchen for a bit and came up with a HEALTHY HAWAII PIZZA! What!? Yes. Trust me, it's delicious!
Tropical pizza goodness
I used the healthy pizza crust from Blogilates as a base. For this you need:
- 1/4 cup of dry oats
- 1 TBS ground flax seed (if you dont have that, just use flower! It worked fine for me)
- 1 egg

What you need for the toppings:
- 4 TBS of tomato sauce of your choice (I used one with basil)
- some (fresh) pineapple chopped in small pieces
- some shredded chicken breast
- any kind of low-fat cheese or cottage cheese
- some dried italian herbs to taste!

♥ Mix everything for the crust together and spread it thinly over a tin pan or a pizza plate. Place it in the oven at 350F for about 20-15 min until firm.

♥ Once crust is firm, take it out and slather tomato sauce on it.

♥ Then top it with your pineapple, chicken breast and of course some of that delicious cheesy goodness!

♥ Put it back in the oven at 350F for about another 15 min until it's nice and hot!

♥ Cut and enjoy the entire thing! Yes, just eat that entire delicious pizza. Omnomnom!

Of course you can top the amazing healthy pizza Blogilates base with anything you want. I can't wait to try out lots of other delicious combos n.n

Melon & chicken salad!

Today I have a super fancy, yummy and healthy recipe for you guys! This main dish has only about 370 calories and it's super filling. I adapted it from this recipe, translated it and took the time to make it look nice. I had a lot of fun making this, so maybe more recipe posts in the future!?

Food + Art!

***

Food and art has to be one of the greatest combinations ever, so I'm gonna share an awesome artist with you and a super yummy (and naturally healthy!) recipe. Omnomnom!

Lets start with the food!
Lentil curry with chicken and coconut milk
Ingredients:
1 cup of lentils, drained
About a cup of coconut milk
half an onion, in half rings
150 gr of chickenbreast
green curry paste (about two tablespoons)
3 cups/ 300 gr. of fresh spinach

How to prepare it:
1. Put the lentils and coconut milk in a pan and bring it to a boil
2. heat some oil in a skillet and bake onions for about 3 min. then add chicken, let it cook again for about 3 minutes
3. add green curry paste, lentils and coconut and bring to a boil
4. add spinach

Now divide it over two bowls and you're done! This recipe will serve two and is delicious with some naan bread. Enjoy c:
Noashi is a so called 'sunae' artist. She makes the most beautiful art with shiny, colorful sand! Feast your eyes on these delicious works. I'd love to try something similar sometime!

Sorry about the lack of personal art updates, I'm still not completely back into it.. Soon though.. soon.

Wake Up. Drink Up.

***

I'm always on the hunt for things that will help me live a healthier life! Since Christmas I've really lost my self control when it comes to food, but I am determined to get back to my healthier self again! Not because I feel like I need to loose weight, but because I feel a hundred times better when I don't constantly eat sugary goodness (BADNESS!).

Now, I've already stocked up on veggies, fruits and other awesome power food, but another challenge I'm going for this week is: drink more water! Starting with 16 oz. right when I wake up to be exact.

I'm really loving her youtube channel Blogilates TV, there are tons of great work outs on there and other videos that will definitely motivate you and your healthy living! You should also check out the blog! I am determined to stick with drinking that water every morning for at least a week! Even though I drink quite some tea every day it's by far not enough to cover my daily need for water. I should get some lemons and fresh mint soon to make it tastier..

I would also like to share come recipes with you I've come across today:
- Pasta with vegetable tomato sauce I didn't expect this to be SO good!
- Banana ice cream made with... one frozen banana? I want to try it so bad.
- 40 calorie flour tortilla the fact that ready made tortillas have so many calories always kind of bothered me, so I can't wait to try these!
- Veggie Rainbow Wraps eat the rainbow! Healthy Happy Life is great in general for healthy recipes.

I want to start making smoothies more often again, they're sooo good (for you!)

Things on top of my grocery list right now:
- all natural peanut butter
- pineapple,
- fresh mint
- lemons
- yogurt
- all natural fresh oatmeal

Did you eat your veggies and fruities today?

Tropical Spaghetti

 ***
Recipe for Tropical Spaghetti!
Sad mango is sad.

When you think of spaghetti mango probably isn't the next thing that comes to mind, but trust me this is actually pretty good! Especially after a warm summer's day. I enjoy coming up with new recipes when I'm too lazy to go for groceries and I haven't got much to cook with either.

What you need for one serving is:
- about half a chicken breast
- one serving of spaghetti
- about 1/3 to 1/2 a mango, cut into pieces
- some cooking cream or cream cheese
- about a teaspoon of green pesto
- some honey
(I just did everything to my own taste so I don't exactly remember how much you need of everything, but I don't believe in exact measuring when it comes to cooking anyway)

Prepare the spaghetti in some salted water. Spice up the chickenbreast a bit with some salt and pepper and bake it in some oil. While doing so, mix the cream cheese/cooking cream (about a tablespoon), pesto and honey together. Drain the spaghetti, add the chicken, pesto/honey/cream mixture and the mango and heat it again for a bit. I think some chopped roasted cashew nuts or grated (goat)cheese would go nicely with it too, but try whatever you please!

Enjoy!
