Compulsive Documenter.

Some pictures I took last weekend...
Postcrossing postcards!
experimental broccoli/cheese/egg ball thingies.
Mini horse in a pumpkin spotted at an exhibition I went to.
This horse belongs to the Japanese mythological God Chokaro, one of the Senin-immortals who lived as hermits in the mountains. He has a magic pumpkin which produces a horse when Chokaro blows in to it, which he uses for transport. Don't you just love japanese mythology?

An 'anonymous' card with my dream I sent to Cassey Ho from Blogilates
A random veggie stew (with cheeeeese) to go with my experimental balls. (hehe)
cutie pie horse on my bubble tea!
If only my life could solely consist of writing/sending mail, cooking and eating food, drinking Taro Bubble Tea and photographing all day every day. I'm like a... compulsive documenter. Always have been. I think a project I'll be working on this spring/summer is sorting out all my photographs I've taken over the past 2 years and put them together in a nice little (or well... probably not so little) album!

Valentine's Day: spread the love!

Valentine's day is coming up! And as every year, I'd love to spread the love again by sending anyone, anywhere in the world, a postcard on/around Valentine's Day. So if you (or maybe someone else you know!?) could use some extra (or even more!) love this year, just fill out the form below!

♥ break day ♥

I have been working too much. Lately I have been feeling like I simply can't allow myself to take a break from my schoolwork. I found out the hard way that mindlessly working for two days non-stop is no good. I broke down a little. This doesn't mean I didn't feel happy anymore or that everything was one deep dark hole of depression all of a sudden, but I kind of used up all of my artsy fuels for the rest of the days. I couldn't care less about it anymore.

So I decided today I would take a break and not work on school whatsoever. Which I found out is VERY hard for me, but I know I have to do this in order to regain my motivation and inspiration. I'm a horrible perfectionist and always strive to get the very best out of every single assignment, no matter how small. And I'm never satisfied. Maybe that's like... a characteristic for a good artist, having the hunger to grow and give your very best all the time, but it'll slowly bring me down if I don't do anything about it.

It's just that art school isn't like any other school, where you just cram information into your head for a couple of years and you're on your way. It all has to come from YOU. There are no books or guides on how to make a living out of art. Well okay, maybe there is, but even if there was it still all comes down to whether people are interested in your work or not. There are SO MANY artists out there. This has been on my mind a lot and left me feeling very overwhelmed. But anyway, I'm doing it. I'm taking a break and NOT doing my homework for the sake of doing well at school. No matter how weird that may sound.

I finally sat down and wrote some postcards to some lovely people, I got one of my favorite magazines to read, painted my nails, watched Mean Girlscalled home and made delicious things to eat throughout the day. And tomorrow it'll be serious business again.
Hope everyone is having a great week and don't forget to take a break yourself too every once in a while c:
