Katja Tukiainen + Kitty Kuromi! ♥

While doing research on pink art this morning for class (which is probably the greatest and most fun research I've done so far!) I came across the artist Katja Tukiainen and fell in love right away. I want to live in her installations! Just being able to attend one would be okay too though n.n
Isn't it dreamy? Looking at these pictures makes me realize my room might need some more pink colored light strings (and candy cane unicorns painted on the walls..)

And look! I got a cute little Hello Kitty in a Kuromi costume in the mail today as my Trick or Treat redditgift ^.^ I want a Kuromi costume now...

art and ice cream

I am loving the cold weather! As long as you're dressed to it that is. And what do I do when it's cold? Eat ice cream of course! Well... not that I had been craving ice cream, but I had been wanting to try green tea ice cream for so long I just HAD to take it with me when I saw it.
It tasted almost exactly like I imagined it would (green tea, obviously) it wasn't super duper special and I think I'll always just prefer it as tea (except for green tea macha lattes!). But it was nice and creamy and a fun treat for while I was working on various projects.
One of those projects being a stopmotion booktrailer for The Hunger Games! I'm not too sure yet how it's going to turn out, but I'm glad the whole stopmotion part is done T.T
And also some little personal drawing/painting in my sketchbook! It's always a joy drawing some of PastelBat's outfits n.n or just creating anything pink/purple/sparkly/cutesy!
And that's about all I've been occupied with! Enjoy your Sunday c:

Bat hair and sparkly dandelions

Happy Monday! Hopefully you guys are really having a happy Monday. I'm still in this downward spiral and it HAS TO STOP. So I figured I'd make a small post on things making me smile right now.
Japanese Streets pictures - wishing I could go to the Harajuku Halloween Pop n Cute party - Kyary Pamyu Pamyu bat hair! - Rilakkuma dessert anyone? - an inspiring and oh so true quote - pretty dress from Modcloth!
I'm also really loving bubzbeauty's videos on Youtube right now. I often feel like videos like this on Youtube are much better than any psychiatrist. Mainly because you can find people who are 'just like you'. You can relate to them because  they're usually around the same age as you and believe it or not, lots of people are experiencing the exact same feelings/situations/emotions as you. One of the best things when you're feeling down or insecure or whatever, is knowing you're not alone.

So I got some Green Tea Ice Cream today and I can't wait to try it! I'll probably blog about my icy experiences later this week. And now I should just stop blogging and start working on some personal drawings/paintings because I know I want to, I just got to get to it!
I could look at this picture for hours...

*More creepy cuteness*

I'm no good at saving money. I used to be, but that was back in the time when I wasn't interested in clothes, make-up, jewellery and such whatsoever. Back when I only had one pair of shoes and didn't see the point in buying new ones when the ones I had didn't have gigantic holes in them yet (I'd still wear them then though, because holey shoes were awesome). But now it's a completely different story! I don't know whether that's a good or a bad thing. I do know the change is bad for my wallet.
I had a look in my Hello Kitty piggy bank since MONTHS, and it turned out I hadn't saved that much in the meantime, so I figured I might as well spend it. So I did. Yay!! First stop was obviously H&M where I fell in love with this denim shirt!! I had been looking for one for ages! I love it n.n

Claire's had a really awesome sale going on where you could get 3 items for only 5 euros! So I got these gorgeous lace gloves, heart tattoo tights and black rose hair clips. The other items weren't on sale unfortunately, but I couldn't pass them up ♥ I'm really into romantic gothic lolita like accessories these days, as you can also see on my Fall/Winter fashion pinterest board!
And since we're in the Halloween mood already now, this is the package I sent all the way to Japan for my redditgifts Trick or Treat exchange! I had a message from my match the other day saying there's a package from Etsy on its way to me. I'm so excited!!
All adorable Halloween pixels can be found at engram pixel! Hope you'll have a great weekend!!

Annabel Lee

I just finished watching 'The Raven' and the scene where Emily quotes Annabel Lee was my absolute favorite. Up until now I never realized just how beautiful the poem is. The movie itself wasn't all that bad (I read quite some bad reviews on it), but maybe that's just because, to me, John Cusack playing Edgar Allan Poe was already a dream come true.

'I'm 20 years old. I like people, places, and things!'

I have yet another way to procrastinate on my work even longer: Parks and Recreation!
As in.. the show, of course.

I don't really have much more to say about it, except that it's hilarious and you should just watch it now. It's the perfect show for me to watch when I've got to wait on new episodes of the Office, because it's kind of the same thing.

So yeah, just go watch it.

I have yet to have my first hot chocolate of the year (GASP I know right!?) but I did already have some home made apple pie and of course lots of spicy chai teas. I'm not big on pumpkin to be honest (except for Pumpkin Spice Lattes!!), but I can't wait to carve one!

Ninjas are delicious!

Current loves...
This cute card + drawings
Like I said in my last post I had sent out some postcards the other day, and today I got this super cute card from my sister! And it also came with some drawings by my baby nephew. I love getting drawings from kids.
Baking Ninja sugar cookies
I got these ninja cookie cutters for my redditgifts secret santa swap, but still hadn't used them! I was procrastinating really bad and even decided to make sugar cookies just so I wouldnt have to do my homework. This recipe is amazing. All ninjas disappeared really quickly, like ninjas should. I used this recipe for them, and it's the best I've used so far!
Quinoa with veggies + tomato sauce and fresh basil
I don't know what it is about this combo, but it's absolutely delicious. I just cut up random fresh veggies, cook some quinoa, throw it all together in a pan with some tomato sauce and top it off with some fresh basil. Honestly, the smell of fresh basil has made me feel very happy lately. It's amazing.
Pretty flowers randomly landing on my balcony
I have no idea where it came from, but it probably felt attracted to the pinkness of my room.
Watching movies
Recently I've been more into... violent movies. Maybe even a bit gorey. I'm not big on nasty horror movies where they do all this... nasty stuff. But I don't mind some gunshots or a little (okay maybe more than a little)
bleeding. So these movies aren't for the faint hearted c:

God Bless America
Grace talked about this on her blog and it looked so awesome I watched it as soon as I had the chance. I was not disappointed. It was amazing. If you're ever annoyed with all those stupid people in the world, just go watch this movie and you'll feel much better.

Red State
This was recommended to me like... ever since it came out. Lots of 'Noooooooo!' moments. In a way it's a very frustrating and nerve wrecking movie, but in a 'healthy' way. The end was my favorite (and not because the movie had ended lol)

Winter's Bone
In my opinion this is like Jennifer Lawrence playing Katniss Everdeen before the Hunger Games came out. It's a great movie. A little disturbing at times, but I personally liked that. It's what they call an 'indie movie' so it's not for everyone.
Little sketch I made while watching Winter's Bone
I finally get to go home again tomorrow! It'll be good to get out of here for a couple of days without too much homework on my mind...
