Kawaii Faces make the world a better place.

I've been getting back into the swing of taking pictures on a daily basis! Here are a few of things that made the beginning of February a little sweeter...
♥ I've been burning candles almost every evening lately.  It has a very calming effect on me, and aren't those melted candle wax swirls the prettiest thing?
♥ Finally I found a cupcake crochet pattern I could understand! You can find it right here. I'm so excited to have finally finished a project that isn't a scarf (and looks decent enough) I now want to make ALL THE CUPCAKES.
♥ Somehow buying any kind of make-up product always improves my mood. Even if it's just an eyeshadow base or something. Recently my favorite eyeshadow pallet exploded in my bag so I had to get a new one... the lipstick was an impulse buy, but I love love love it!
♥ Super cute card I received from my sister the other day! And that little star is a magnet too (so now it makes me smile every time I get something from my fridge, which is pretty often..) I love mail so much! I actually sent out some cute mail myself right after receiving this n.n

I hope everyone will have a great weekend! I'm thinking of going to this exhibition of art of Japanese Ghosts and Spirits this weekend (in the spirit of going out and DOING stuff).

Christmas cheer!

Only 10 more days until Christmas! I recently started a ridicilously pink xmas Pinterest board! I'm dreaming of a pink christmas... It's kitschy and obnoxious and I absolutely love it! Whenever I feel massively depressed by all the busy and stressful days going on right now, I just sit and look at this board for a bit and already feel so much better n.n
I don't have a christmas tree here in my room, let alone a pink one! I don't really see the point investing in one when I probably wont be here during the holidays. I'll just wait until I can enjoy the ones at my parent's homes.

Regardless, my mom still got me some ornaments! And they're the best ornaments ever! Cupcakes and ice cream! Aaaah! She knows me too well. My chandelier is now officially my christmas tree. I just want to hang these somewhere all year round... I bet they'll look amazing on my future pink tree...
She also got me this super cute kigurumi set. I had been eyeing for ages and apparently my mom magically knew I have been. I can't wait to get started! I've been wanting to get into kigurumi for so long and this will definitely help me to get started n.n
This is what I woke up to the day I went to visit my mom! We havent had awesome snow like this since then. Fingers crossed we will for christmas.
Yes, giving presents is a little messed up over here since we also have our own little holiday called 'Sinterklaas'. Since we don't really celebrate both that and christmas in a very grand way December is just a month in which we give each other cards and presents whenever we feel like it! I finally have all my cards sent and my presents wrapped. Now school just has to be over and I'll be a happy (snow) bunny.

Why why why why whyyyy has my mood been so horrible for the past few days/weeks...?
I´m not depressed or anything, but it´s like this evil dark beast that´s usually just lurking somewhere deep below the surface has decided to come out and follow me around everywhere. I´ve tried so many things...

I´ve tried cleaning and organizing my room, which made me feel good for about an hour but then it quickly ebbed away again. Gotta love my new pink sparkly jewellery box and heart shaped ´earring holder´ though c:
As a poor art student you'´ll find that a chair can be so much more than just a chair!
Oooooh sparkly!

Another exciting thing happened this week: I ate grasshoppers and mealworms!
Now honestly, I have been terrified and grossed out by mealworms ever since I wanted to have oatmeal for breakfast a couple of years ago, but instead of oatmeal I ended up with a bowl of mealworms...

But we had a ´blind fold food tasting´ and so I had no idea that the tasty granola bar I was eating turned out to be containing mealworms! Anyway.. some pictures (I stole from someone else who was there too)

The grasshoppers actually tasted really good! I´m 100% prepared for a future filled with lots of little insects on my plate.

Another thing I´d like to share with you guys today is this anatomical heart I crocheted today! I had to improvise the entire thing, but I think it turned out pretty good. I´m planning on doing more similar themed things.

That´s about it. I think my laptop is really badly affected with viruses and that most of my accounts continually get hacked (despite me frequently changing passwords etc.). I don´t know why I´m telling you this. It´s more of a personal reminder: take care of your laptop and log-out every single time!

Your girlfriend's not a dessert person.

***
I proudly present to you:
I'm so excited about it!! It's the first time I used a more 'fancy' technique or even followed an actual pattern. I used the Urban Jungle pattern, which was super easy and turns out looking (in my opinion) super pretty!

Temperatures have dramatically dropped here since a couple of days ago, and then nothing beats crocheting awesome hats, scarves and mittens to wear. Has anyone seen one of the latest episodes of New Girl where they have a crochet evening c:? And Jess' speech was one of the greatest things too.

Okay hey. I’ve got something to say to you man. I break for birds. I rock a lot of polkadots. I have touched glitter in the last 24 hours. I spend my entire day talking to children and I find it fundamentally strange that you’re not a dessert person. That’s just weird and it freaks me out. And I’m sorry I don’t talk like Murphy Brown and I hate your pant suit and I wish it had ribbons on it or something on it to make it just slightly cuter and that doesn’t mean I’m not smart and tough and strong.
Jess, New Girl

Sorry about the New Girl spam! Now I'm off to make something new with this awesome sparkly purple yarn I got today <3

Happy Birthday to me!

***
...to me!

I am officially not a teenager anymore. Ha yeah right, you are obviously an adult when you spend your day crocheting a cupcake scarf, eating chocolate and  listening to Disney soundtracks on repeat.

I am not really celebrating today yet, but on Thursday I'll go back home and bake red and purple cake with twenty candles on top! I got some really sweet cards today already though, including the most amazing cupcake pop-up card from my mum <3 she knows me too well.
The above picture is also the final picture of my 365 project! Clickity click on the button over there on the right to check out all the pictures! I don't think I'll be doing it again this year, but I'll still continue to make as many pictures as possible because it's so much fun going through them later on.

But as I said: I'm working on a cupcake scarf! I finally taught myself how to crochet and once I got the basics down I decided I wanted this to be my first project. I only have two more cupcakes to go, it's gonna be sweet (no pun intended).
I wish I could give pie to all the lovely people who read my blog, but you'll have to do with a cute digital pixel cake.
Xoxo from an old person.
