Buhbye 2012!

At first I was planning on doing a year re-cap kind of thing, but honestly, halfway through I realized it wasn't all that interesting. Not saying this year wasn't interesting! I'd just much rather focus on the new goals I should set myself for this new year. I feel like I really got to raise the bar for myself now. For my blog, my art, on a personal level. I've got to make stuff happen and just DO instead of THINK.

But most of all, I want to thank every single one of you for reading and therefore supporting my blog! Whether you're a long time follower or only just stopped by. Even there being just one person out there who enjoys checking out my blog every once in a while keeps me motivated to keep writing, photographing, making art and sharing inspiration and happiness! So thank you!!

I don't like new year's. I don't really see the point. But my dad is here and we're going to check out the biggest fireworks in the country tonights so it'll all be good and pretty n.n

A very Katy Christmas

Let's just take the time today to appreciate Katy Perry's amazing Christmas themed outfits...

Katy, to me, is the queen of being able to look funny, sexy, classy and cute all at the same time! She rocks those crazy outfits of hers every single time.

I'm a little worried though since she's apparently dating John Mayer and rumors already are going around that he's cheating on her (SURPRISE). He better not ruin her Christmas or I'll personally come and kick him in the christmas balls. Hmpf.

Present wrapping inspiration

Happy holidays! Wow I am SO happy not having school for two weeks. A much needed little break n.n I think I said the other day I was done Christmas shopping, but that was a BIG lie. I did basically everything today. It was so much fun! I constantly wished the rain would turn into snow though..

I'm no good at wrapping presents though, but I feel like I'm getting better at it every day! If you're a wrapping noob like me, here's a little inspiration!

A couple of my gifts are DIY gift jars with some people's favorite cookies or christmas tea. It's so cute and easy (and inexpensive!) and looks great with a nice christmassy ribbon with a tag tied around it. My wisdom for christmas shopping is: food is always good. If I don't know what to get someone I just get them some of their favorite snacks/candy/etc. and wrap it up nicely.

Lovey Dovey Cat Dress

The other day I got a super cute new dress! It has a lovey dovey cat print with tiny black cats and white hearts all over. Sometimes I just have these days where I'm like 'I MUST treat myself to a new dress!', no matter how much my bank account might protest. I also got some pretty new pink nailpolish by Essence called Free Hugs. I'm really loving wine red and baby pink these days...

Everything about this dress is perfect. Not only the print, but also the fit, the length, the fabric, the sleeves and the neckline. I also feel like it's a perfect Christmas dress! It is just the best dress ever.

Can you say worst outfit picture ever? Ha, I don't care.

Christmas cheer!

Only 10 more days until Christmas! I recently started a ridicilously pink xmas Pinterest board! I'm dreaming of a pink christmas... It's kitschy and obnoxious and I absolutely love it! Whenever I feel massively depressed by all the busy and stressful days going on right now, I just sit and look at this board for a bit and already feel so much better n.n

I don't have a christmas tree here in my room, let alone a pink one! I don't really see the point investing in one when I probably wont be here during the holidays. I'll just wait until I can enjoy the ones at my parent's homes.

Regardless, my mom still got me some ornaments! And they're the best ornaments ever! Cupcakes and ice cream! Aaaah! She knows me too well. My chandelier is now officially my christmas tree. I just want to hang these somewhere all year round... I bet they'll look amazing on my future pink tree... 

She also got me this super cute kigurumi set. I had been eyeing for ages and apparently my mom magically knew I have been. I can't wait to get started! I've been wanting to get into kigurumi for so long and this will definitely help me to get started n.n

This is what I woke up to the day I went to visit my mom! We havent had awesome snow like this since then. Fingers crossed we will for christmas.

Yes, giving presents is a little messed up over here since we also have our own little holiday called 'Sinterklaas'. Since we don't really celebrate both that and christmas in a very grand way December is just a month in which we give each other cards and presents whenever we feel like it! I finally have all my cards sent and my presents wrapped. Now school just has to be over and I'll be a happy (snow) bunny.

Today we were talking in class about 'sudden break ups'. How it's actually pretty scary how one moment people can look like they're at the hight of their relationship, only to find out not much later it has all fallen apart. I've often enough seen people who seemed perfect for each other suddenly part ways for no clear reason. It IS scary how that works, but don't let that fear dictate your life. Not only in love, but in everything you do. I think the big cliché saying of 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.' is in place here. To be honest, that's always been my personal piece of wisdom.

Literally the Best Thing Ever: Takeshi's Castle

I couldn't sleep at all the other night, but I didn't mind because I got re-introduced to one of my favorite shows ever...

Takeshi's Castle is a Japanese gameshow from the 80's. Lots of people compare it to Wipe-out (I never watched that show, but maybe you guys have). They start out with about 100 contestants who have to face various pretty tough challenges challenges. If they make it through all those (most of them dont..) they get a chance to conquer the castle of count Takeshi. Which never happens. Well I think I saw somebody win once, but it's always very unclear. Lets just say it's a rare occurence.

I don't even really care about the 'game part', I mostly just love watching all the crazy fashion going on in this show n.n For some reason especially the pants they wear are always ridiculous(ly awesome).

This episode gives a pretty good impression of all the awesomness going on! (It's with Dutch commentary, but you don't really need it anyway)

I just want every day to be like this show. 

Donut December!

Happy December everyone! Finally I could open the first door on my advent calender c: I ate a christmas tree today! Today's been a good and productive day filled with designing donut loving bearistas and making said donuts. I am now obsessed with making fake donuts.

Aren't those donuts the greatest thing ever? I highly recommend making them yourself too! Go check out the tutorial here Especially the icing part is super fun. I was tempted to lick it so many times, but luckily the chemical smell kept me from doing so. Satisfying my sweet tooth in a very interesting way. I also made earrings out of some mini donuts I made! I can't wait to wear them n.n
