I'm finally starting to feel more like my old self again and have some cute Halloween themed art-related ideas floating around in my head that I can't wait to start working on. Right now I have pink dye on my head though.. so I can't get everything I need yet. Unless I wouldn't mind walking in public with a shower cap on my head. Patience, patience..

Small update: business cards and anxiousness.

Hi guys! I've basically been living like a hermit again lately. Working on school. Eating entire bags of chocolate covered hazelnuts. It's not even like we have a massive amount of stuff to do for school. It's just that I feel bad whenever I don't work on school. Or just when I'm not being creative in whatever way. But in return, I don't start feeling well when I'm inside all day (trying) to work either. I just don't know.

I also finally handed in everything for my possible exchange with MICA last Monday and now I'll basically be dying all month waiting for their reply. If they don't accept me... I don't know what will happen. I'm not going to shut up about this until I hear from them.

Talking about school.. for a class I had to start designing business cards. And geez, it's SO hard to capture yourself and your work into one teeny tiny card. But I think I'm getting somewhere. I need feedback though! Do you like? Not like? What should I change? What colors are better? I personally like the pink/purple colorway best. Oh and if someone has magic powers to make my handwritten typography look a bit better, please step forward c: Eventually I'd like to update my blog with a design that matches the card, but I'll get on that later..

Not much else to talk about. I just got to start doing fun stuff again. I'm just scared and anxious about so many things right now. Hope everyone is doing well though :)

Inspiration: crazy bat lady!

I'm growing a slight obsession with bats at the moment. I mean, I've always loved them, but I think they're one of my favorite animals right now. I mean LOOK AT THAT BABY BAT. Isn't it amazing? 

In the future I shall be a crazy bat lady, living in the house you see in the middle of the first collage. Halloween decorations will be out all year long and I'll be baking creepy cute treats while dyeing my hair crazy colors. Yes. That sounds about right.

Oh, and did I mention that it will be fall all year long? With maybe some snow every once a while. Snow made of whipped cream and cotton candy!

I sincerely apologize for the lack of picture credit. I saved these pictures over the past month and have no idea where they all came from :c Now I feel like a criminal.

Art update: heaven or hell?

A little 'art' update again n.n For class we had to design two posters. First we had to pick either heaven or hell. Guess which one I picked! Then we had to make one design depicting a 'cliche' heaven, and a 'personal' heaven. I decided to go for a collage technique and to try and make both designs work well both seperately as well as a whole. Of course my personal heaven had to include pizza angels, John Cusack/Lloyd Dobler, gummy bears and cat unicorns.

Once I got both of them printed, I also added some glitter to the cliche one to make it even more over the top!

This assignment was a lot of fun! It was maybe even more fun to see everyone else's final pieces. I was pretty insecure about my final work, since I'm a noob in photoshop and I felt lazy just putting pictures together. But I got positive feedback! Yay! Hope you enjoyed c:

♥ First of all, Katy Perry's video for Roar. I love the video and the song so much it actually made me cry. Whenever I see Katy I think of how in the 'Part of Me' movie she was crying. And to then see her come back even harder and still be her own beautiful, strong and funny self makes me smile so much :)

I wish I had an art journal as amazing as this one. I used to work like this constantly and I miss it SO MUCH. This lady's journal definitely inspired me to start one again! Or at least get more creative in my sketchbooks again. Just cut out and draw and stick stuff on and pour glitter over it without worrying too much whether it's going to be any good or not.

I hope you're all having a good week so far n.n I'm super busy with homework for school, but this week I will finally be sending out my exchange application for Maryland Institute College of Art!! So excited! Then it's just a matter of waiting until about the end of October to see if they'll accept me, which I really really reaaaallly hope they will.

Hi there! Just a fun, quick little update on life right now c: Still trying to stay sane. For some reason drawing still depresses me so I just try to work with collage for school assignments right now. I just try to keep surrounding myself with cute stuff and sweet people. Also, I decided this new place in town called 'the Tea Lab'. It's seriously amazing...

I got a mango green tea with mango pearls in it and a green tea cake. That cake. OMG. I almost died (in a good way) when I had my first bite. It's the greatest thing ever and I could eat just that for the rest of my life. The tea was SO good, too. New favorite place for sure!

That day I also picked up some cute things for school + other knick-knacks I couldn't resist.

Cute sticky tabs and memo notes, rilakkuma pen, Hello Kitty mechanical pencils, bright notebooks and some random deco stuff!

Oh the perks of my roommate working at Lush... today she gave me this originally Japanese Lush FUN product which is basically a soap you can mould into all kinds of shapes and smells like ice cream and freshly baked cake (aka vanilla :P)! I've been tempted to eat it more than once already.

I also got these super cute purple bat lights today! So excited at least some shops over here have Halloween stuff.

I also want to share this wonderful short documentary on Lolita fashion with you: Sugar Coated. It's incredibly inspiring and seriously made me cry.

Cardboard Cats and the Cutest Cookies.

Hi guys! School has started again and omg, it's harder on my than I thought it would be. With preperations for the possible exchange going on it's hard to focus on another 3/4 months of assignments. And my confidence in my illustrative abilities also dropped down to near zero. All in all, this week has been kinda heavy on me, but luckily there were also plenty of things to keep me positive, which I will share with you right now!

This picture of my friend and I at Lowlands makes me smile! Giant cats made out of cardboard? Ummm yesplz!

My  other friend (who's name coincidentally is Sarah as well!) went to England in the summer and gave me some of these goodies! Omnomnom! I think Jammie Dodgers are some of the cutest cookies ever, especially when they're MINI SIZED! And they're delicious too. And isn't that tea packaging the cutest?

I got some super sweet mail from a reader from Russia the other day! She basically included everything I love : tea, Halloween, cats, Hello Kitty, foreign tickets and coins. Thank you so much! A reply is on its way c:

A random picture I took of my desk the other day while decorating my new depressingly black sketchbook with gems and stickers. Much better.

I'm the absolute worst at shopping for bags/purses. I don't like about 80% of all bags out there. I don't know why. And when I do find one I like, it's usually too obnoxious to use on a daily basis, so then I end up using cheap old tote bags with holes in it (to great dismay of my mom..) BUT, I really needed a new backpack for school, and after browsing the interwebs for weeks on end I decided on this one.

It has Hello Kitty on it (with a pink bow!), it's by Vans and I had a discount coupon for it so I was like 'whatever!' and ordered it. It also came with a cute little coin purse. It can easily hold all of my stuff and in the end I'm really glad I got it!

I do have to admit that sometimes I feel a little ridiculous when I get another Hello Kitty item (and this time was no exception) but she just makes me so happy. No matter how down I feel, she will always cheer me up and I think it's amazing that such a simple character can has such a powerful, positive effect on me! So I'm just gonna keep buying Hello Kitty stuff and live happily ever after n.n

I'm obsessed with candles lately! New part of my evening routine is lighting some scented candles and basically just sitting back and watching them for a little while. I feel like my little country is a little behind on the whole scented candles thing though. So I went for a little digital window shopping and came across these amazing candles. Cupcakes, marshmallows, candy corn, Reese's and COZY SWEATER!? I'm really curious as to how that one smells...

Hi there! I got Tumblr! For the longest time I've been meaning to set up some kind of website to regularly post anything art related, but wordpress is confusing and it kind of put me off... So today I decided to just get a Tumblr to post everything on. Unfortunately prouddaydreamer was already taken by some kind of moron who hasn't posted on there in months.
